Well fuck I am freaking out and I think the feeling is only going to get worse if the package actually does make it through customs

I mentioned this in my last post, but the package is going to a remote mailbox, but the company who owns the mailbox (UPS) is super clear about not accepting hazardous/toxic material. I guess my only hope is to cross my fingers and pray that they don't investigate it too much. Shit. The idea of getting into legal trouble or having thousands of dollars in fines, potentially dealing with my mom finding out, just. fuck. If any of that happens it doesn't matter, I'm going into the woods and hanging myself as fast as I physically can. Please just let this work, please please please

I'm paranoid to begin with. And if I was fully ready to CTB I wouldn't be so worried, because if anything happened I would just end it there and then. But I'm really hoping I can have the SN on hand and then keep living until I've fully prepared myself for the end, whenever that ends up being.

FUCK, this is a nightmare. Is this my usual brand of overreacting or should I cancel the order and figure out another receiving place? I'm literally not going to be able to relax until this part of the process is over

I wish you all the best. I hope things would go your way.
Do you know what they labeled it? Most sellers misleble it to ditergent, paint sample...etc if that is the case they might not open your package to check

Yeah I know for certain they will label it something like that. I don't know if a package covered in Cyrillic would raise suspicion coming to the midwest US? Other than that I'm just concerned about whether they x-ray the packages they get or any insane shit like that

Try not to panic. If anything does happen just deny all knowledge and tell them to leave you alone.

People are literally smuggling in tonnes of coke and heroin. No one cares about a bit of powder for someone to CTB, or has resources or will to do anything.

At most they will ask if you are OK and throw it away.

I hope you're right. Thanks for saying that anyway. I think I'm just gonna disassociate until it's over lol

You're not importing an illegal drug or something that can be used to craft explosives (that's nitrate). Moreover, the quantity is very modest.
Can your parcel be opened by customs? It's possible, every parcel can possibly be inspected.
Do you need to worry about that? Not so sure about how customs work but what @UKscotty said makes sense.

Nonetheless, you may want to read about the Youth Poisoning Protection Act. Don't know whether or not it's effective and if it applies to imported goods too, but it's something you may want to know.

As for UPS, I would like to give you some peace of mind. UPS is a freight forwarding/express courier and, as such, may refuse to ship toxic substances. All express couriers work this way. That's why your dealer did not specify that the goods may be toxic. In the unlikely event that your parcel is inspected, worst case scenario is your package will be destroyed and that's it.

I can't be 100% sure, but I believe that if your parcel clears the custom you should be good. UPS won't charge you a dime and I highly doubt will report you to the authorities. I understand your anxiety, just hold on. Hugs to you

Thank you, this is actually very reassuring... I know I'll probably be fine, but I think it's going to take a few days even after I have it to stop thinking the FBI is going to come breaking down my apartment door lmao

There are heaps of different uses for sodium nitrite, google them and if you feel the need get yourself a plausible story just don't elaborate.. keep it simple. I too was so paranoid waiting for mine to get through customs but it was all good šŸ™

What's the purpose of worrying about something which a) has no clear sign of happening, and b) if it did happen, there'd be nothing to do to prevent it?

Paranoia and anxiety. I know that logically there's no point, but my brain is a fucking disaster over it either way

Not what the cause is, but what the purpose is. What usefulness is there? And yeah that was just rhetorical, I know you already know there's no purpose. Your problem isn't knowledge. What you can try is notice what happens when you close your eyes and fully connect with the fact that there really is nothing to worry about with regard to some perfect storm of bad luck. It's not about wishful thinking, because what you're connecting with here is just the truth. It's also not about making yourself feel better or running from any kind of unpleasant truth. It's just about realizing what is already true.

That's good advice, it's just so hard for me to actually accomplish

I don't think you have to worry much at all, in regards to the thousands of dollars in fine or legal trouble. They will probably just throw it into the garbage, and terminate your account. Even if they fine you, things like this could take years and years to resolve (like a long overdue parking ticket), which isn't even their priority. Even if you didn't pay the fine years down the road, maybe it will at most affect your credit score?

But chances are, it will just be another lazy employee who dealt with this (not the owner), and threw it into the garbage (probably done stuff like this dozens of times already), then just type a quick note on your account on the computer, maybe send you some standard letter or email just so you know about it as well, as part of their everyday procedures

All they really going to do is empty your mailbox (takes 1 minute or less), mark it as vacant again, and rent it out to the next customer. They could really care less about some salt for preserving meats. At least its not cocaine, weapons, or a bomb

Main concern should just be losing your SN. Don't worry too much about the other stuff at all
