Method Black powder gun - how to make the correcto choice?

My only way to get my hands to a gun is purchasing a black powder gun. However, how do I know which one would be powerful enough? What type of gun do I buy?
Can someone more knowledgable jump in and provide some advice? Thanks.

This will most likely work wonders, and no doubt it wont be hard to find a working replica given its historical significance, hope this helps in any event.
