This is very strange. A bird just flew full speed into (I guess?) the house...

I sit on this one porch chair a lot on the front porch drinking my coffee and smoking in this exact spot.

This bird just flew into the house. I heard it, and was looking down towards my phone aimed at my feet. The bird landed directly beneath the front of my chair that I always am sitting on. I heard it and then next thing was it was resting directly next to my right foot about 2-3 inches away from my foot...

The bird looked up, moved its head, blinked his (or her) right eye while looking at me, he took some breaths, and then died.. never really moving his body or wings or tail. It was over for this bird in maybe 10-15 seconds after he landed at my foot, and he died looking at me and looked soo peacful!

I just looked at him closely, and there is a orange colored clear fluid coming out of beak and surrounding beneath and around his beak.. which is resting on the concrete beneath my chair.

Very strange! I am looking at this dead bird laying here in front of me right now.

This just happened, and I want you all who read this to know about it for some reason...

What the heck?

They sometimes fly into windows because the reflections confuse them. You can buy little leaf stickers which break up the reflective surface

We have some leaves and Halloween decorations on the window, and they cover a good amount of it and breaks up the glass some. I will have to ask if this has happened, that they know of, with birds killing themselves by the front porch window much in the past?

He must have hit his head/neck going very fast and hard.

I wonder if I should take him to the pet cemetery in the back yard, and bury him with the rest of the pets? Even though he was never really a pet. I am going to let the dogs sniff and look at him when I take them outside in a minute. Maybe name him too?

I took video recording of his last moments when he stopped breathing.. while I petted him down his back through to the end of his tail feathers.

I also closed his lower right eyelid for him after he stopped breathing...

The same thing happened to me once.

A cat carried the bird into the house, then it flew into my cereal bowl and then it crashed against the window.

It looked as if he had had a heart attack afterwards.

It's a nice idea of yours to give him a burial.

The front of my house faces south, with a large window, 4' X 8'. Birds often fly into it with a big bang! Once, the bird fell to the ground and I watched it for about an hour, it was alive but barely moving, just stunned. My concern was a cat might get it. He came around and flew away finally. Never have seen one actually die from it.

This happens every month or two. Have considered putting something like stickers on the window glass but I often sit and enjoy the beautiful view. Very soothing.

I was walking down the road a couple of years ago when a sparrowhawk attacked a starling above me. It dropped onto someone's front door step, did a few crazy, cartoon like convulsions then died. I do wonder what the people who lived in that house thought when they got home and found a dead bird on their doorstep...

Saw a hummingbird smash in a window with a coworker once during break and we picked it up. We petted it and made sure it wasn't bleeding or anything broken. Aside from fast breathing and eyes closed, it looked fine.

We placed it back on the ground and when we came out at lunch it was gone. It was beautiful to see that bird up close like that.

That sounds like a sign to me. Birds can be spiritual messengers. Do you have any idea what kind of a bird it was ?

Was it really full speed though? It might have been like 60% speed trying to slow down and failed.

I made sure, and it looks like he is an American Robin Bird.

A bird was messaging me about ten years ago during the week my grandmother died. I am sure of it.

I really do not know? It did not sound like he hit the window/glass to me either. It sounded like a soft thud to me, like he skimmed off of something more solid than glass. I did not see what he flew into and hit though, so I am not sure?

I really don't think that the bird wanted to die. Small birds are really fragile creatures and they often die when they crash down, it usually happens when they get confused by windows or the shape of some houses, not to mention that they can also suffer from strokes and congenital issues that will take them down mid-flight.

Robins represent spring and are usually seen in the spring.

If it was a robin and he got too cold that might have done it.

If birds panic or get disoriented they will crash like that. They are quite delicate, so even though it didn't die on impact it was very likely too stunned to feel anything.

I do not know why, but it was weird looking at this little bird with the orange throw up stuff in a puddle below his beak, after seeing it die like that?

It looked like he did not suffer. He just blinked an eye, and then his body went limp. One feather pointing down the other up, with one leg stretched out to the side. He never moved his body.

Ooh don't do that. He'll come back to life if you do that, and they're not the same when they come back to life.

What the heck?

Did you attempt mouth to beak resuscitation? Did the bird have a suicide note?

There was a post recently about deer committing suicide.

Pretty soon, people are going to start accusing us of encouraging animals commit suicide. PETA will come after us!!

Weird shit happens in life and thank you for sharing your moment.

That's funny. In the video I took of him, I mention maybe resuscitating him.

I looked up and read all about the meaning of a Robin bird, and it is very cool stuff!
