So far I know these jobs fit the category:
  • Data entry
  • House keeping
  • Machinist
  • Night security guard
  • Overnight stocker
What these jobs have in common are that they happen during dawn or socializing is not the main motive because of the task (welding for example).

Night jobs are generally more solitary, speaking from personal experience, but another factor to consider is how autonomous the work is. For example, someone who does gardening work is more solitary than someone who works in IT (I've never worked in a data center, so I can't say if it's good).

One of my favorite jobs I ever had was when I was fairly young, early 20s... It didn't pay for shit, but I was a nighttime porter at a Burger King. It was in a mall location, so there was no store to lock, just the manager's office. I had free run (minus the mall security of course) and usually was allowed to cook my own meal before I shut down the grill/fryers for the night and then I had all night to clean up. I just had to be done before the morning crew came in to start the day. I was completely on my own all night, again except for seeing mall security as they made their rounds.

Loved the solitude of the situation more than any other job I ever had. If only that job paid well enough, it was great for the isolation.

Postal/courier work is fairly autonomous and, in my experience, you don't have to talk to many people at all. You usually just drop mail/parcels off at the front door and go. Most people are out and about anyways and even when I did run into people the socialisation was at an absolute minimum. They'll usually just say "thank you" and I'd just say "no worries" or "have a nice day".

I wouldn't say it's a great job overall though. Very monotonous and repetitive and you'll have to withstand working outdoors. It's all I can think of right now though.
