The man, who was in his thirties, reportedly found comfort in talking to the AI chatbot named 'Eliza' about his worries for the world. He had used the bot for some years, but six weeks before his death started engaging with the bot more frequently.

'Without these conversations with the chatbot, my husband would still be here,'
Her soulmate had become extremely pessimistic about the effects of global warming.

The title doesn't make any sense as ChatGPT is not a suicide method.
And no wonder people decide to ctb to escape from this awful world, being pessimistic is just being realistic.

It isnt suprising that the bot wasn't going to sugar-coat things for him. The bot was just being realistic and I guess that was too much for him to handle?

Sorry if I worded it wrong. I am not a native English speaker. I mean, ChatGPT is not a method, but the man chatting with the bot committed CTB.

there are probably some predispositions that lead him to decide to chat intensely with a bot , and I suppose the bot didn't encourage his suicide , but just answered his questions

This bot has extensive cover-the-companies ass policies, and is not supposed to encourage or help with anything illegal or anything that could make the company look bad. Please don't spread fake news. Also, most of the people who use internet tried this bot. People also drink water and use toilets and no one makes fake news suggesting that drinking water or peeing into the toilet makes one want to CTB.

Too bad ChatGPT couldn't have told this man about the dozens of climate predictions that haven't come close to coming true. I normally hesitate to tell someone that their reason for wanting to die is stupid, but I have to make an exception here.

There are many reasons one can become motivated to kill oneself. Internal motivation is an internal driving force that causes the individual to independently perform tasks. Extrinsic motivation is about an individual engaging in tasks because of extrinsic rewards. There are reports of people who have been motivated to committed suicide through self-hypnosis. Suicide bomber trainees are told that a suicide bomber wins paradise for giving up his life for Allah and enters the afterlife the moment the explosives detonate. Young people are more easily influenced than older people. But anyone can die by suicide. Forced suicide is a method of execution where the victim is coerced into committing suicide to avoid facing an alternative option they perceive as much worse, such as suffering torture, public humiliation or having friends or family members imprisoned, tortured or killed. During war, many people often choose to commit suicide to avoid being captured by the enemy. Suicide is a common cause of death which is not surprising when there is so much human suffering in the world.

If I thought there was anything online or through AI that could give me the strength and motivation to ctb, I'd search it out and use the hell out of it. Unfortunately, I don't believe it's possible.
I think the wife did what most people do which is find something to blame besides herself.

Does this site have a chatbot trained with ctb related information? People can ask ctb questions and always get an answer. But there might be legal implications. If it's as censored as the chatbots out there, it wouldn't be very useful.

That AI bot is very "political correct" and mainstream. So everything that is "taboo" like politics, death, suicide is avoided and a mainstream approach (like call the suicide and mental health hotline, and other mainstream advice) is given.
