Maybe it's just my anxiety and need for control, but ever since my SN came, I've been a lot less anxious. By having the choice to die how I want, living my life becomes something I've chosen to do rather than something I'm forced to do, at least for now. Kind of like how I'd do chores as a kid just fine, only for them to become a pain as soon as I was asked to do them lol.

Having a method available helps in living better because it provides a safe way to exit in case of things getting worse or aging. I wish you peace

I can relate, since I find the method I want to go with and start gathering everything, life is more bearable. Hopefully, you will be able to continue like this without resorting to use it :)

I get it. I feel the same way. Ever since I chose my method it feels like whatever situation I'm in and no matter how powerless I might feel I still have control over the situation no matter what. Or like I always have an out just in case and I'm not stuck here if I dont wanna be here. It's oddly comforting I guess?

I can absolutely relate to this by the way.

Having your method in your possession is a liberating feeling. It was for me but for some reason it isn't as reassuring now. I always have my method with me at all times. Even at work, stuffed away in my bag. Maybe I'm just used to it always being close by.

I wish I felt the same. I have brought SN more than a year ago and keep a rope near my bed but it doesn't bring me any peace. If anything for me, it's just a reminder of thing I want to, but can't do.

I agree with this sentiment. If I had my own SN on hand the fact of knowing that the option is there would make life slightly less dreadful to deal with.

I agree.
I got some sn in February. I've been able to be around to help some friends with what they have needed and tie up some "loose ends" knowing that the right time to use it will come

Its relatively better than living without a method in place but the magnitude depends whether the method is less or more painful.

My anxiety and depression calmed down a bit after I scored a Nitrogen cylinder. Just having it, knowing I have a way out, makes me feel better. Like a steel companion. Yeah, I know, there's another steel companion that comes to mind, but I don't want a gun. Now I just got to practice so I reduce my chance of failed attempt. But I don't mind if I fuck up and accidentally kill myself practicing. That would be a fortunate accident. :haha:

Eh. It doesn't bring me peace. I still want to go. It just makes me feel like I am living on borrowed time. That is all.

I agree. Having the ability to kill yourself gives peace of mind. Like was once said a prison becomes a home when you have the key.

I agree completely. When my husband found my SN and flushed it down the toilet I was at one of my lowest points. I was so mad. It was like he had taken away the thing most valuable to me. I've felt better since receiving a new batch in the mail and knowing the option is there for me when I'm ready.
