hiya peoples, so i just wanted to find out if anybody else was ever interested in a band and purchased there material till they found out what a particular band member did ?, for me at least here in the uk the lost prophets were big news years back, always featured on music channels such as kerrang back in the day, a young up am coming welsh band, shinobi vs dragon ninja was my personal fave, and some of there earliest material, then it came to light that lead singer ian watkins was a peado, he is serving time for it now doubt he will ever be released and correctly so, i cant listen to the music in the same way since, it has soured it for me, have you ever been into a band and had this happen to you ?, or am i alone in this, take care peoples and god bless, post your similar stories if you have any ?

I was never into lost profits but definitely saw them in the limelight. Honestly I bet there's loads of nesses up shit we don't know about some successful musicians. Stating the obvious I guess. I'm just glad so many have been dethroned over recent years. R Kelly for example.

I was never sure of the Michael Jackson rumours either. As a kid I loved his music. Having watched the documentaries now though, it's undeniable really. Such a shame. Good example of OP.


I still love Jackson's music but I could never delve into the more obscure songs that I maybe never visited before, now. They're lost to history now for me. Whereas with soneone more honourable (Stevie Wonder for example) I'd probably go searching to discover every last morsel I may have missed while they were alive. (Just to be clear that's a hypothetical. Stevie wonder isn't dead lol).

There's so much abuse of power and celebrity though. So much we don't see that gets overlooked. Andrew (no longer Prince Andrew lol) is another example of that and the whole debarcle that bought that to light.

Then there's the youth support systwms that have peado rings and treat young women terribly. You don't think it could exist in those environments until you see it and then you realise just how terrible humans are and how much of a veil we live under. The world we consider civilised is actually just corrupt and broken. Having such wide spread communication (resulting from the invention of the web) has really made it much easier to see and spread that kind of info. Previous to that there was little opportunity for victims to interact with one another. Even vixtims imagined themselves as one off isolated cases but as they're speaking up more and more come forward and suddenly you realise this is more than the odd bad seed. It's almost an industry.

The kids from his trial have been in a documentary along with a few of the people that workwd around Jackson. The tactics he used and their accounts are identical. I don't like to believe it but honestly I can't see any way to denounce their accounts. The parents of the kids were interviewed too and it's clear they were manipulated, winwd and dined for access to their kids. It's really orchestrated and you can see how they realised it in hindsight. I think Jackson thought it was loving in sone way but regardless he knew it was wrong as his actions were premeditated.

No, I agree. It's social norms of your own little bubble. The infulence is not a worldwide one and not only represented through time. It only has to be one that encompasses your stomping grounds in your respective time. This is how easily influenced people's value can be. We, as a species appear to believe we're much more evolved in this area than we really are.

i think it would be nice if once something criminal against another (so not drug charges because what they do to themselves is their problem) happened that all the money they make from their fame goes towards a charity or something. your vocal cords have nothing to do with your actions so its not fair that good music get shoved aside because they did something wrong, but at the same time they shouldnt be allowed to get away with doing something wrong, to have the money continue going to them would be to support them, but if the money went to charity then i dont see a problem with it.

I read his biography and he talked about it. Apparently he met her at one of their shows and brought her with them to the next town on their tour bus. He didn't know how old she was when they first hooked up but afterwards she told him her age and he also found out her father was a sheriff. He talked about just dumping her off the bus but was worried about what she'd do (possibly tell her father) so he acted as if he was okay, slept with her once more and then at the next town they parted ways.

Pretty fucked up and as well as a fucked up situation.
