For those who want to ctb this way, how many grams do you intend to mix in the 50mL of water?
The PPeH says 2-3 grams, but these three articles I found worry me.
  1. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/BF03259998
  2. https://academic.oup.com/jat/article-pdf/20/2/134/2106091/20-2-134.pdf
  3. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3688603
In article 1, the deceased ingested 1.5-2g and died after 40 hours.
In article 2, the deceased ingested 9g and died after 4 hours.
In article 3, the deceased ingested 15-20g and died after atleast 2 hours.

I know the PPeH doesn't give a timeframe, but it's crucial that my death take less than 8 hours. The search for my person might be initiated as early as 6pm, and I'm not even sure I'll be able to get the hotel room at 10am. So I have 8 hours of free time at most, and I'm considering taking more than 3 grams to speed up my death. According to your research (and if the subject came up) could this work, or could it provoke an adverse reaction and slow down the dying process?

Thank you.

That's worrying, i remember Nietchke saying that azide is pretty much immediate just like cyanide.

Thank you, I found two more articles:
  1. https://www.astm.org/DIGITAL_LIBRARY/JOURNALS/FORENSIC/PAGES/JFS12818J.htm
  2. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/22559996/
In article 1, the deceased ingested between 700 and 800mg and died after several days.
In article 2, the deceased ingested over 6g and died under 5 hours.

All the people from these articles died at different ages, but it seems that regardless of how old you are, the more you take, the faster you'll die. I wish there was more data like what I found. But I think I'll take 6g when the time comes (instead of 3g like the PPeH recommends).

I think the only advantage of Azide is the fast mode of action as it has been said to be extremely painful. It has been known to have corrosive properties when mixed with water and gives off a pungent gas which is painful to breathe. This is on top of the severe migraines, stomach aches, nausea, vomiting which comes with azide poisoning. I used to think that it would work as quickly as cyanide and I can bear 1-5 minutes of pain. But to endure the sort of pains over hours or days seem to be a complete nightmare.

Here is the results of a case study.

Are/were you going to use this method? If not, which one did you switch to?

I had researched azide before getting N (actually I had already got it, then disposed of). I don't think there is something preventing you to ingesting a larger amount. It's quite well soluble in water and you're going to need antiemetics in any case. Also looking at your sources, I would rather get more than risking a small dose. I didn't have decided on my amount (then I changed method) but I don't see reason for not going overkill with 15 - 20g. You will die mostly in any case, because there is no antidote, but better is if faster in my opinion. I think I would even go with 30g.

I toyed with the idea for a while as I thought it would be as quick and lethal as cyanide but its clearly not the case. I now have N.

Thank you both and good luck. 15g seems like a nice number. I have the antiemetics so the nasty side effects should be weaker.
