• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've been told over and over again that different avenues exist for people to get better. However, I don't think I'll be cut out for any of it. I don't possess any practical skill or anything useful, I'm completely socially inept and I'm overall crippled in both mind and body. So at what point does someone still remain with some type of "hope" for improvement? to me it seems they're suggesting being content with diffidence which I don't want to do. Hence, I've come to the conclusion that I'm better off dead since I'm not only incapable of these things but willingly choose to deny improvement, given how late I am to it all.

I don't want to do
whether you're capable or not, this is clearly where you stand

"hope" for improvement
you don't need to participate in this 'catch-all solution' just because people around you are saying it out loud. 'hope' can be hollow and misleading.
people have learned to default to this way of thinking to get through life problems, but there's also such a thing as false hope and toxic positivity.

in the end, do what you have to as it's your life, your choice.

The participation part is precisely what I've been meaning to get at. I don't think it should be something I need to be forced to be participate in but false optimism is something that has been so ingrained in me that I've been having a hard time seeing through it.

That's a good question, I got called a lost cause by someone a few weeks ago even though I tried my hardest to improve

I've been called a lost cause, I've been told there are no lost causes. There's not really any point that you are or you aren't. People can decide you are one to them, they can decide they aren't going to give up on you. All that really matters is how you feel. If you find reason to stay; if you have hope or belief or faith that it can get better, that you can get better, that things can change and grow; if you want to recover then it's okay to see what life still has to offer. Personally, I see myself as a lost cause. There's nothing left to do, nowhere left to go, no one left to know. I'm ready to find my peace.

I don't believe there is a lost cause.

But there are people who want to label others as a lost cause.

Regardless of the possibility of recovering, we all have the choice of whether or not we want to stay alive. Or follow your path of recovery and conformation.

The choices are up to each person.

I think it's when the person themselves decides that they are. Someone who everyone else has already written off can still turn it around (I believe,) so long as they're really willing to focus on something. They don't even have to thoroughly succeed in whatever that is. So long as they themselves feel like what they're doing or trying to do is still worthwhile.

Alternatively, someone who appears to have literally everything going for them can decide to throw it all away.

Obviously the people with more going for them have a better chance- if they're willing to put in the effort. It's going to be massively difficult for someone who keeps trying and keeps failing- at pretty much everything. But, I think a fair bit comes down to how much we're willing to try. How much we still want or believe in a better future. I suppose the worst combination is when we struggle with a lot of things in life plus, we've largely lost the want or hope for things to be better. But ultimately- surely it can only be the person themselves who decides when it's over for them. It's only properly over when they give up I would say.
