Today, German supreme court gave a verdict which can legalize assisted suicide in Germany.
That's good news, I hope the UK follows and does the sameToday, German supreme court gave a verdict which can legalize assisted suicide in Germany.
Do you know the specific regulations for those who qualify? Any details on that?Today, German supreme court gave a verdict which can legalize assisted suicide in Germany.
I think that is for incurable illness, but they didn't specify anything.see this linkDo you know the specific regulations for those who qualify? Any details on that?
I don't think uk will do that in the next couple of decadesThat's good news, I hope the UK follows and does the same
It is meant for every circumstance. See here:I think that is for incurable illness, but they didn't specify anything.see this link
Thats why i mentioned " i think""It is meant for every circumstance. See here:
"The right to a self-determined death is not limited to situations defined by external causes like serious or incurable illnesses, nor does it only apply in certain stages of life or illness. Rather, this right is guaranteed in all stages of a person's existence."Bundesverfassungsgericht - Press - Criminalisation of assisted suicide services unconstitutional
The general right of personality (Art. 2(1) in conjunction with Art. 1(1) of the Basic Law, Grundgesetz – GG) encompasses a right to a self-determined death. This right includes the freedom to take one’s own life and, as the case may be, resort to assistance provided voluntarily by third parties...www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de
But,I am pretty sure that they wont allow for mental illness. The best it can happen would be like in Netherlands, where 1 out of 100 serious mental illness cases are acceptedIt is meant for every circumstance. See here:

Yes. I know how the German system works. It takes 1 month to get an internet connection :). No offense to Germans
lol Heil Bureaucracy! We germans are fucking office paper nazis.
Yeah. I know that.;)thats easy
try to get something from authorities
worst thing is, if you have to see someone from them in personal
they only work from twelve o´clock to noon :D with a breakfast break in between
lol Heil Bureaucracy!
Hell the people responsible in Germany for checking whether or not you're ill enough to get the medication that will kill you were ordered to deny all applications and delay them as long as possible. There's no such thing as assisted suicide in Germany. It only exists on paper unless you refuse to drink and eat in the hospital. Only then will they help you die.Be sure, here in Germany, now nobody knows what to do with it. There will be strict regulations and stuff and even with terminal illness you will have to do a lot of paperwork an stuff.
We germans are fucking office paper nazis. It wont be that easy.
Best thing would be, that doctors could prescribe N if you want it and they wont get in conflict with the law. That would be the best. So if you find a doctor who will support you, everything was fine. And if you dont find someone you could do paper stuff to get it from the government.
But all that wont happen that quick.
It's never easy , Belgium , Netherlands , Switzerland -- it takes 2-4 years .you will have to do a lot of paperwork an stuff.

The constitutional court explicitly said that it's illegal to make criteria who gets the professional help. So you can be 18 and totally healthy - and you have the right to die as long as you find a doctor who prescribes it. Because suicide is a fundamental right, everybody who can make sane decisions is allowed to do with professional help. This is different than Belgium or Netherlands in where there is an expert round which decides about each case separately. This is not planned in Germany, because this would mean that there is selective criteria. But you have to find a willing doctor.
It will take time, because the court has proposed mandatory waiting periods to make sure the suiciding person is sure about his wish. Or getting mandatory counselling. The politicians now are surely thinking how to restrict the access.
But the point "everybody is allowed" is stressed by court. If you don't believe, here they talk about the right for EVERYBODY in German
Just forget about this. There are so many easy ways to die. You don't need the German government's help.
Carbon monoxide. There's several ways to go about it and it isn't that hard. Also SN is relatively peaceful and you can apparently get it on eBay. Exit bags with an inert gas.painless, peaceful and acsessable?
"office paper Nazis", that made me laugh. :DBe sure, here in Germany, now nobody knows what to do with it. There will be strict regulations and stuff and even with terminal illness you will have to do a lot of paperwork an stuff.

Good luck convincing a doctor. But,u can't guarantee. If it is with the doctor, there is no need to worry about failure and consequences

I agree with you 100%, just like everyone on this site !sadly it is like that
i honestly dont see the problem with all that euthanasia stuff.
why do such restricts, i simply dont get it. all over the world. If i say it truly and its my wish, i only harm myself not others. so why make people suffer. every pet is released from suffering in a peaceful way, and they arent even asked if they want
