We talk about suicide, but almost all of us don't want to suffer to CTB. I have read a lot of threads in the past three months, and I think that there was not any reliable availabe painless method to CTB. We talk about suicide, but almost all of us I think that, in the end, are likely to not CTB, because we don't want to suffer in the process, or, even worse, ending in worse shape. So, aren't we doing more harm than good to ourselves by talking about suicide?. I mean, it's great to have a site like this to search for information, but, in the end, I think that almost all of us will do nothing, due to our fear of pain or fail. So, is it not better to carry on with our lives, depressions or whatever? Just a thought. I wanted, and still want, to CTB, but if it's not available, in certain terms, why keep deepening in the matter?

Obviously, what I've just said doesn't apply to people wealth enough to spend money in trying to get N. Or people so desperate than don't mind to try a paniful or unreliable method (SN, I'm sorry, it's not reliable, 7/10 PPH).

As always, excuse my English, I'm a Spaniard.

I don't think it does more harm than good to discuss it because repression gives undue power to what is being repressed.

What I've experienced, and what I've noticed with some other people, is that when you aren't allowed to talk about something like suicide, it can become much bigger than it really is, and end up blocking being able to see what one really needs to see.

But when one talks about, researches, and plans for suicide, then suicide gets smaller, or at least it's appropriate size, and the hidden issues have a chance to surface, be discovered, and be dealt with.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Even if someone isn't sure about it, they might feel peace in venting about their desires to CTB.

I kind of see your point. However, as soon as you mention to other people that you want to end your life, they either recoil in horror, or desperately try and talk you out of it. This forum enables us to talk about the subject freely, without anyone judging us or making us feel like we are bonkers. Everyone would like a painless suicide, I suspect, myself included.

GoodPersonEffed, I liked to read you. I recognize that you have a very good point, to some extent. In fact, my CTB ideation comes from a bad decision that I made, and that bad decision wouldn't have been taken if I DIDN'T REPRESS thoughts, just like you said.

Good point.

I find that the idea of ctb had become less of a taboo for me since I started actively engaging in discussion about suicide with other members here.

Reading about other people's struggles and preparations has taught me a lot in terms of acceptance, but also planning, and all sorts of practical details.

I don't feel that being active in this community is harmful for me - quite the opposite. That being said, I would not hesitate to leave the forum the moment I start feeling it causes me more harm than good.
