So difficult to have the energy to eat food. Plus there's basically nothing in the house to eat anyways.

I'm not really fit, but not overweight either. Kinda sorta chubby and flabby but I still can see my feet when standing so I guess I'm okay.

I am... but also, I'm 6' and when I was down to 180lbs back in my 30s I still had a BMI that classified me as "overweight" which was BS. I feel like 180 is underweight for me because I legitimately have large skeletal structure and I have decent arm and leg muscles naturally even when not working out... so I feel like 200 lbs is a healthy weight for me.

I'm about 315 right now. I was down to 285 last year and dropping at a good pace until my world imploded and I decided I didn't care.

BMI 27 so technically overweight but isn't it pretty much entirely discredited these days given males and females of the same height and weight are the same BMI? I can guarantee all women my height and weight look a lot fatter than I do despite that number being the same. I'm pretty normal looking size where I live.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure BMI is discredited but it somehow still gets referenced and even if not directly referenced, people still use the relative weights to classify people as overweight anyway.

I also hate how doctors use weight as an automatic jump-off point to various diagnoses without considering other factors first. Like, I won't argue being extremely overweight is healthy... but it isn't necessarily the cause of lots of things it gets blamed for automatically.

My mother tried for years to get her thyroid tested and diagnosed for what she expected was a thyroid problem. She was overweight and they always wanted to go for other things and she had to really push them to test and ultimately they determined she did have an overactive thyroid, and once they got her on that medication her other symptoms started disappearing and she also began losing weight.

In my case BMI doesn't lie. I'm obese. When I'm more depressed my appetite goes and I lose some weight but after a couple of months the anxiety/BPD mood swings take over and I comfort eat/ sometimes binge and I gain it back and more. I've gained nearly 2 stone in 18 months. I rarely have the mental strength to go for a short walk, never mind any other form of exercise.

Yeah mine fluctuates wildly too. Just since the start of last year I went from 84kg to 108kg before the treks in 8 months, back to 82kg after the 3 months of treks, and now 92kg in the 5 months since coming back. Wild. I've done that my whole life though. I think I've lost more than 20kg in less than 6 months at least 10 times now, all through either extended treks or water fasts, but it always comes back.

I put on some weight over Christmas or New Year that I didn't really care to lose. It's the same thing every year. Start eating cake during Christmas and New Year. Then lose the weight for the summer. This year I haven't really much cared about it. If I want to though, I can lose weight really fast.

All bulk no cut!!!
My brother looks pretty okay for his weight since he works out a bunch. When I was a guy i looked better tho >~< waahhh i went from being a 10 as a guy to like a 3 as a girl :p

Overall my body likes to operate at whatever weight it wants to be at and I can't really gain or loose weight easily. When I was a guy I'd try and constantly binge eat and nothing would happen. As a girl it's easier to put on weight but it still takes a ton of effort >~< eating a whole tub of ice cream daily is way to difficult for me. But i managed to gain 3,4 kgs from doing that, and it's for the most part stuck.

Rn I usually eat < 1500kcal daily and my weight hasn't budged. I used to eat like 2000kcal and also didn't gain weight... Only at like 2500 did I notice anything.... Sooo painful....

Anyways w my day to day i used to like go out to get food but I eat whatevers around, which isn't really much. My dad usually comes home with food tho. !! I did eat a whole large pizza yesterday.. And 2 slices of plain bread hehe. >.<

I remember watching this video about a severely overweight woman who is trying to get back in shape but to stop eating as much is like a nightmare to her.
She was abused and SA'd as a child, and realistically children have acess to way less coping mechanisms than we do. Food was hers.
It took a long time but she was getting as much help as she could and is doing better today. Still on her journey but you could see how over time her soul and body looked less and less permanently exhausted.

BMI is a bunch of crap that was arbitrarily created. It doesn't take into account large bone structure or muscular development. I'm 5' 11" and weigh about 183 lbs. I used to work out a lot way, way back in the day. Because of that I have fairly large thighs, arms, and back muscles. The stupid guidelines for BMI put me at slightly overweight.

Absolutely. The height/weight standars are ridiculous. I'm short and I weigh more than most people would think but I was considered over weight when I was working out for hours every day. Lol

I could stand to loose like 10 pounds, but according to the BMI chart, I'm borderline obese. Hell, I'd have to go anorexic for like 6 months together i "should be"

Honestly, people, being obese or overweight doesn't mean you're automatically unhealthy and should lose weight. More emphasis should be given to a blood test that tells how much fat/sugar/sodium/cholesterol/triglycerides you have inside you, as well as other conditions that may affect how much is too much/too little.

BMI is about body MASS. That mass may be fat, may be muscle, may even be water! It just says "you wide" or "you thin", no more, no less.

I'm probably on the borderline of normal and overweight. I used to have a stable weight until my thyroid messed up. I gain weight so easily. Then I have a bunch of other illnesses that give me fatigue so I can't exercise much. And now I also have a large growth in my uterus that makes my abdomen look huge. I went on a big health kick in 2023 but I got obsessed. Was weighing and noting everything I ate and was eating between 500 to 1000 calories a day. I was losing around 1lb a day though which was great but then I gave up and I've put it all back on

I used to be quite overweight a few years ago, but over the past year I managed to lose a good amount by trying to change my eating habits. I wouldn't consider myself skinny now, but I'm in a much better place than I was before.
