Are women increasingly concerned over deep fake technology?

I had a crush last year who opened up in our self-help group that she is scared of the AI generation technology. She hinted she fears deep fake porn or deep fake nude pictures.
The women I had a date with last Saturday expressed a similar fear.

Personally, when I was younger I also was scared about deep fake technology and stuff like that. Since then the technology improved massively. Though, I realized I am a man and it is rather rare men become victims of this technology. At least compared in frequency to women. I don't like the notion but I use dating apps anyway. I think the possible benefits outweigh the risk for me.
I know men get blackmailed over nudes too. But I haven't heard about fake nudes of men. There is a trend to manipulate desperate men on dating apps to send nudes. And then they get blackmailed. The perpetrators pressure them to send the pictures to friends, family and wifes. (sextortion)
But I am not exactly sure how that works. Because from what women have told me dick pics don't seem to be that seldom. Couldn't they get blackmailed too? Is it neccessary that they face is visible too? I always wondered that about men who send dic pics. Don't they care that the receiver might upload them on the internet to make fun of them?

I can very well understand the fear of women. But for me it was easier to let this fear go. At least to a normal extend. I wouldn't want pictures of me in my underwear on the internet. As others elaborate the impact of nudes will decrease when AI technology enhances and spreads further. Grok AI was really disgusting. And I think it is not good thart a mainstream audience could try it on a major platform.

I think I'd be more worried if I was younger. Not that I ever had the figure I imagine many people would even want to see without clothes but the idea someone may do it to mock you is upsetting. Now, I'm not really around people much to have to consider that (thankfully.)

I'm glad I don't have children though. I don't know how you'd go about protecting them in this world- without being over protective/ restrictive.

It doesn't even need to be AI. Colleagues of mine were worried about genuine pictures of their teenage daughter in swimwear at some sort of party or other being shared amongst her 'friends'. Even if it isn't explicit, it may still not be great to have it available on the web.

it's... terrifying to me, but i would like to clarify that the idea of someone using AI to make porn of me without my consent is terrifying, now how likely that is to happen? i don't know, i do know there's every kind of person out there, who could/would do things i couldn't even come up, so maybe. but i highly doubt it would happen.

i do think a lot of the fear comes from seeing popular women online getting AI deepfake porn made out of them, and so you see it and worry it's going to happen to you. it's still terrible that it does happen to them, and i think there should be way harsher safeguards around that, or at least some punishment for it. imagine, someone makes deepfake porn of you, and either they keep it for themselves obsessively, and make an entire one-sided relationship with you, or they release it out to the public, and now you cannot get a job because someone has seen it, or people in your inner circle saw it, and now no one wants to involve themselves with you.
