I don't possess the Puritan work ethic. I'm not cut out for this world.

I'm certainly not. I'm autistic, dysphoric, emotionally unstable, take my friends for granted, have no work ethic, have no life goals, and seem physically incapable of feeling any happiness. I am living proof that not everyone has a purpose in life. No one benefits from me being alive, no matter how many times they try to assure me otherwise. This world has nothing for me.

Yes, some people are not cut out for life. If your personal struggle reaches a point where you don't want to/are unable to function and despise waking up every day, then I'd say you are not cut out for life. And there's nothing wrong with that.

If we can agree on the definition of "being cut out for life" as having characteristics as well as cognitive/emotional and physical/ biological abilities (which are obviously mostly determined by your genetic deposition) then we will most likely conclude, there is a considerable amount of people who are not. Life is a struggle for survival, meaning every individual does have a biological and social responsibility to bring forth their own race. If an individual lacks in above mentioned central aspects of being fit in orer to survive and implement his own positive features into the "herd", then I think we can accurately assume this individual wasn't "cut out" for life, yes.

I certainly have tried and I always end up the same way. I can create a life for myself that seems enviable but I always end up crashing for any number of reasons. I just don't think I'm cut out for either life in general or a life worth living long-term.

I believe that some people are just not strong enough for this life. This includes me.

I believe all people struggle with life. It's part of the human condition. But it's also true that not all people struggle to the same degree.

As for not being cut out for life, life is all we have, all we know. Some people might not be cut out for prison, or the army, but it basically boils down to the degree at which people struggle, or opt out completely by breaking down mentally.

With that said, there should always be some way to make life easier, whether it be a change of living circumstances, or seeking support for other measures to be put in place.

It's sad that people who struggle often feel like they're away from all remedies. Some problems are easier to solve than others.

I personally think I'm not for this world. I'm not sure which world I'm for, but it sure isn't this one. Planet Zorg, perhaps.

Definitely.. I'm not really made for life, but I'm doing what I can. Every day I wake up, I feel impending doom and am frustrated that I woke up another day. I also can't work, I am disabled and it just seems like I was born into the world to suffer. Gonna see how long I can deal with it before my mind goes and I end it all...

Sending love and hugs. x

I'm certainly not. There's a sort of mental fortitude or a bit of drive to continue in this life. I've always given up when pushed too much. And losing everyone really broke the little will I did have. In my hopelessness I've completely ruined any chance I had at this life.

People already put a ton of effort into making life work for them...making life fit into their needs. So yeah, I'd say it's super possible to not be cut out for life.

I don't possess the Puritan work ethic. I'm not cut out for this world.

I definitely possess that. I've always excelled at work.

I just don't possess that thing where it people want anything to do with you.

Well consider the fact that we're here to begin with. I'm sure that's a pretty fair assumption.

Are some people not cut out for life? Maybe not. Survival of the fittest seems to imply that life is hard for all species, and not all conditions are conducive to the each organism that is living. Not all can adapt or be resilient.

It seems to me that all species seek first to survive and then to thrive; when they can no longer thrive, they revert back to survival, and sometimes they cannot even survive.

Life is a fucking battle for every species. We as humans are just more conscious of our experiences, whether positive, neutral, or negative. We don't just experience them, we are more highly aware of them, and that can feel like a curse. Philosophy is all about that awareness, and seeks to understand it and figure out what the fuck to do with it. Many philosophers have said that the point of philosophy is to learn how to die, and Camus said the point of philosophy is to decide whether life is worth living.
