Anyone planning to ctb by firearm soon?

I go back and forth on partial hanging or using a handgun, if I choose the latter I will be using a Glock 17 9mm JHP 115 grain and shoot myself in the temple

Yes everyone preaching about the precious brainstem but I have seen enough pictures and videos to be certain I will die by a point blank shot to the temple.

If you are looking at statistics of handgun headshot survivors those are usually from attacks to assure certain death the bullet has to travel to the center of the brain then the doctors can´t "save" you in shootings where people survive headshots it´s because they get hit at an angle usually also from a distance but the angle is what causes the bullet not to penetrate all the way through I have even a few videos where the bullet goes through the head and exits from a point blank suicide at a gun range.

I´d just say do whatever you are comfortable with if you were to bet all you own on a person surviving a temple shot with a 9mm I am sure you wouldn´t take that bet. But again do what you are comfortable with; temple shot, through the mouth I am sure you will die regardless.

Not for me personally, but I support anyone's choice with how they want to ctb. It's not always effective and it'd be messy

so basically your saying it doesnt matter where you aim because a headshot is a headshot. what about the small percent that survive, that freightens me alittle

As I said those who survive usually are hit at an angle so the projectile doesn´t go straight through the brain I most likely will do it in the middle of the night at a little secluded place so it´s not like there are first responders ready to go, no one will probably even notice until morning. You will only survive if there are people to "save" you if you take them out of the equation then you will at the very least bleed to death.

but I hear you I am also a bit afraid more if there will be pain even though I have done an extended research to know that there should be none at all maybe this article will set you a little at ease I will certainly read it again before ctb I think it is in that article where they mention that a point blank shot to the brain you won´t even hear the 'bang' from the gun because it takes around 200 milliseconds for the brain to register what is happening so the projectile will be inside or through your head before you even hear the bang it´s pretty hard to comprehend.

good article im still getting stuck with possibly surviving, its mentioned one third of people survive, that seems like an awful lot.

Most likely people who are aiming under the chin or in the mouth on a near 90 degree angle these idiots (sorry but they are) aren´t even aiming for the brain it´s like they think the whole head is a huge hitbox for an insta kill like a video game.

Try and google articles about surviviors they almost always survive because they shot themselves through the chin which I find idiotic it just creates another barrier between the brain.

That wouldn´t be my first choice and pretty rare but that is how Adam Lanza did his suicide with his Glock 10mm

Oh, that would be pretty hard to aim that way the mouth would be better imo I think you posted another thread with a video with the guy who shot himself in the temple I wouldn´t so daring with a shotgun since it was very effective but maybe I am wrong I just remember a video I saw of a guy who shot himself in the forehead with a shotfun and blew his entire face off but the brain was pretty much intact and even if it took some damage it´s the frontal lope and that part can be damaged severely and you can still survive.

A 9mm is a small bullet and at point blank range it does need to be fairly accurate. As mentioned there are numerous survivors that have attempted this method. I have personal contradictions to using a firearm because I do not want to contribute to the argument that law abiding citizens should not be allowed to possess guns. That being said, I have read up and viewed CTB videos using firearms, a shotgun seems to be the most effective when aimed at the temple. Just my two cents on that.

I know you fear I could buy a shotgun but after all the failed attempts I would also be scared to blow my face off because I might not aim it correctly or flinch and I think shotguns are too gruesome for me I rather live a little hole I know it objectively doesn´t matter but still.

I feel the same way that is one of the reasons I am considering partial hanging although I doubt a suicide with a firearm would change gun laws but I don´t like people to ignorantly believe that "if he hadn´t have had a gun he would still be alive" so I fully agree with you here.
