Discussion Anyone know what their funeral will be like?

I am not sure if my family will even have one for me because they are Muslim and it's a grave sin. If they did it would be full of anger and shame towards me. Some people would pray for my "forgiveness" others will be angry. The sheik at the mosque would make a dua like, "please excuse sister she had 'mental illness', (they don't know i am atheist). Some would probably be suprised because i act happy around them. How do y'all thing y'alls funeral is going to be like?

Doing my best to make sure there isn't one. The key to my plan is that is just disappear and my corpse is never found. I think it would take about ten days before anyone notices I'm not around. No family, no wife/kids friends i can count on one hand. They'll be fine.

Non existent. When I die, it will be a paupers cremation. Cheap, my remains scattered with others who couldn't afford anything else.

As for what anyone thinks, I couldn't care less.

I need to make sure my body can never be found. Funeral in my culture is so expensive. It's almost feel like a scam business. When my Dad passed away, we paid at least $7500 just for the coffin alone! That didn't included other stupid expenses for idiotic/unscientific rituals for 6 days simply for the sake of "culture".

By the way, he was cremated in the end (including the pricey coffin!). I don't want my family to suffer (unnecessary) financial burden when I ctb later.

That's the reason why I want to die in the woods. It's not the funeral in general that is expensive, but the whole casket thing is. It is also very creepy.

I carry a "living will" that includes explicit instructions to donate any usable organs to anyone who needs them, and to give the rest to the nearest medical school for anatomy class, surgical training or whatever. No funeral or memorial or anything like that.

No procession because nobody will be attending. I am outside my hometown. Dragging my body back will not be economically viable. Just burn me to ash and throw me somewhere. Just like how I want it to be.

I'd prefer no funeral, but my family always does them, so there will be one, as much as I hate the thought of it. I really really just want to be forgotten. I respect my family and their tradition of holding funerals, because they are loving people who want to honor lost loved ones...But I'm simply not worth the time or energy, and I frankly don't care to be mourned or remembered at all.

Plus, it sure would be an awkward funeral, when I picture it. I mean...I did nothing all my life, barely interacted with my own family. What would, or rather, could they even say about me? Not a whole lot. Maybe if I'm lucky that'd make the stupid funeral shorter.

I dont want my family, who will be already devastaded, to look at my battered corpse with autopsy incisions, neck lacerations and / or broken fucking legs :') Lets not give everyone secondhand ptsd shall we? And also, the idea of decompostion terrifies me, Id rather burn to the ground so theres nothing left to decompose

Mine will unfortunately probably be the same as every other funeral I've been to. People who pretended to care in life will pretend to care even more for about an hour, then nobody will care. There will probably be some people who give each other the evil eye, and they'll all find some way to justify it to themselves that none of them were actively helping to put a nail in my coffin. On the upside, there might be a small tray with snacks, and I'll probably get to annoy some rich idiot in a suit by holding up traffic.

Wise words. This reminds me of the story of Diogenes of Sinope who said after this death they could throw his body on the dungheap for the dogs to feed on for all he cared. When asked why he didn't fear his body being mauled and devoured he suggested to lay a stick beside his body so he could use it to fend off the dogs.
