I don't know how assisted suicide can be open to all "sound" minded people. The moment you show your desire to not exist , you are declaring yourself irrational...lol.
Yeah- true. I think that's one of the major things that needs addressing...
Can someone with a mental illness and/ or ideation have the capacity to reason and make logical decisions for themselves? I'd argue- yes.
In fact- our governments expect and
let us make life altering decisions not just for ourselves but for others when we are supposedly mentally unstable. Supposedly one in four adults will suffer with at least one diagnosable mental health problem in any given year. Are 25% of the population unemployed and on benefits?
How many of them do you suppose hold positions of responsibility? Train drivers, pilots, police, (very high suicide rate amongst police officers,) doctors, surgeons.
How are these people allowed to even drive or walk around with guns if they are so mentally unstable?!!
If we are
that crazy- we should be deemed a risk to society and be given benefits. I'll go on living a bit longer if they're happy to fund my living expenses- except- they wouldn't be... There's
no way I'd qualify for benefits. So- I'm fit enough to work. I'm fit enough to make a will. If I had the qualifications, I'd be fit enough to do a responsible job but, the moment I decide to kill myself, I'm crazy?
How can it be both ways?
