Is anyone else here absolutely fascinated by storms and natural disaster? Especially because climate change could increase the intensity of the natural disaster. Is anyone here too interstet in weather patterns and natural disaster? Or do you find this boring?

The power of nature and the elements is always going to be fascinating. I find even thunder storms intense and it's my favourite sort of weather. And in the uk that's about as dramatic as the weather gets..

There are rare superstorms in europe, and they are absolutely devastating. They too rotate, but are way bigger than hurricanes

When I see a storm or a heavy cloud of rain in formation, I always picture the satelite images that show how big those events can really be. Meteorological formations are very good at showing us how small we are. I love this feeling - the feeling that, despite how suffocating our mundane situation can appear, it's all so insignificant and trivial compared to the rest of the world.

I absolutely love natural disasters like lightning storms and forest fires. They're so wild and untamable and its always seemed to me like nature's way of getting back at human kind.

Yeah, when you think about it a lot of mundane things like rain, snow, even the simplest thing like sun shining on us is kind of fascinating but we experience that so often that we just find it incredibly normal and dull. Storms are pretty damn interesting, volcano eruptions too. Its weird how this planet works.

Yes, lovely thing that is *hug
I used to get nourished by nature's immensness. Such as scampering to the vastest spot upon the storm and be as near as possible to the lightning cells. It is deep love . Thunder encloses you in its heart and you feel warm and caressed by the bold rain drops or sometimes raging wind and electricity is like your own childhood laughter in your chest the skye seems materialistically lowering down to the earth to pick you up so that you not have to be a human anymore.

That's why I didn't feel ashamed when I was near a fatal sun heat stroke in a later case when I already was destructed.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone but to me nature preserved me from woe through mankind a good period .
Of course it can deliver you, too

I like storms my self it started when I was a kid a i was out walking with my grandad and a thunderstorm blew in . As we headed back i saw a bolt of lightning hit a tree about half a mile away from me thr sound and the light wad over wellming . The tree was split in half all the way from the top to the ground it was a 50ft tree as well . After that i was fascinated with storms just all the raw power think if we could harness the lightning one bolt could keep a house powered for a year i bet .

I like how the air smells when a thunderstorm is coming. The electricity in the air smells so fresh.

Storms are my go to drug. when i'm really down and i know there is a thunderstorm coming in from the ocean. i normally pack my bags and go for a drive down to the coast and lay back in the tailgate of my car and watch the storm roll in. can be there for hours.. i truly truly love it. the sight and the smell. truly it's my go to drug.. only thing that really really cheers me up.

I absolutely love storms. Thunder, lightning, rain, snow, all of it. And I live somewhere rural so it's very surreal.

Coincidentally, I just heard a group of people struck by lighting in the news an hour ago. Three dead, two wounded.

Everybody's talking bout the stormy weather
And what's a man to do but work out whether it's true?

Where I live sometimes we get really heavy rain and thunderstorms. It is my favourite weather as it matches how I feel. The sound of rain is relaxing to me.

I love it when there's a decent (for the UK) thunderstorm.I have a lightning tracker app and last night my area finally had some decent lighting and a few loud thunder claps. The rain was coming in through my wide open window. In the early 90s in the UK I felt an earthquake,my flat shook and we also had bad winds that were almost impossible to walk in.I also follow dawn and dusk times as I hate the summer and have been reading about humidity.

A few years ago we had real snow(UK) I got stranded 20 miles from home, trains stopped,no taxis.

Yep l remember @bubba, Feb-2015, 3 days of the heaviest snowfall the UK had seen for many a year, atleast 3-5ft high in places, higher in others! When my dog walked across the garden all you could see was a black Tail moving along a sea of snow!

You expressed my feelings wonderfully. I have hardly met anyone who had this opinion. Most people feel uncomfortable in a raging thunderstorm, but I feel exhilarated and ecstatic.
