Any survivors of the jump method?

Do you feel anything when you hit the ground?

Like if I jump from 500ft? Would there be any pain or just immediate unconsciousness after the fall?

I met someone years ago who had jumped from the car park (two levels up, I think) - he survived and was severely disabled.

I read from a thread here that survivors of falls don't remember anything but falling and then the aftermath, so I don't believe it's painful when you land, just immediate unconsciousness
