The DJ Avicii killed himself in 2018 at the age of 28 by cutting himself with a broken wine bottle.

That's a pretty hardcore way to go, especially for someone who was unlikely to have in depth knowledge of arteries and so on. It sounds like an impulsive act. Maybe he just intended to self harm and it somehow went too far.

Those Buddhist monks who self-immolated in Tibet were hardcore. Just sitting there, placidly on fire, like it's just another meditation session. I could never do anything like that, so I have enormous respect for them.

The hydrochloric acid basically made their mouth, esophagus, and stomach necrosed so the tissue was all black. They didn't show the woman's body but the case file I saw did have public images of the internal view of the aftermath (btw this is available on medical website.) I saw another person, a man, and the man's autopsy and his lips were black and so was his throat from the acid (I don't remember if there was an internal view for him.) Interestingly enough no holes were burned through them, from what I can recall. Probably because the acid had to get through the mucus first so maybe that's why?? Idk I'm not a med student lol.

The rat poison basically made the man vomit up bloody chunks since I think rat poison makes everything coagulates (correct me if I'm wrong to any one with medical knowledge out there.) And he would not stop, it was just constant bloody gunk coming up from his mouth which triggered my emetophobia heavy.

The bleach one, I haven't seen the aftermath of that but I have heard about people drinking it to commit suicide. Bleach is on the opposite side of the ph scale from acid. I remember watching a video on how it affects the body but all I can remember is that it burns a lot (obviously) but I don't remember the specifics. (Again calling people with medical knowledge to give more details on that.)

Maybe impressed isn't quite the correct word but I have an admiration for people who film their suicide. Particularly jumping, as it usually doesn't end up being a gore video that's used as quick shock value. I've always kind of romanticized filming suicide, and I have a desire to do it if I can figure out how in a relatively safe way.

It sounds excruciating. It's not even like a noose that self-tightens once you start, you have to do it with your own strength the whole way, ignoring any pain or survival instinct. I've heard there are other documented cases of that but it seems rather rare.

I harp on him a lot on this forum, but definitely yukio mishima. In his writings, he idealizes the death of a warrior, the beauty of a corpse in its prime, and the eroticism of a violent death. This was largely because mishima himself was a sickly young man who could not fight in world war 2 like his peers. He would then attempt to coup the japanese government in what was largely a performance piece, which culminated in his reading of a death poem, disemboweling himself with a sword, and being decapitated by his lover. His suicide was an extension of his ideology and his art, reflected in his death poem:

if i remember right, she'd been dealing with depression and schizophrenia for a while and was on some heavy-duty meds for treatment
i think it was those same meds she OD'd on

When I was 12 I was on the verge of doing this, as I did not know any other way at that time.

Mishima was such an interesting guy. He lived his life according to his principles to the bitter end and even carried out his death in accordance with them. It's a little inspiring, really. I don't intend to romanticize death necessarily, but as a part of life, a death in accordance with principles, higher ideals is surely an admirable one, facing the ultimate unknown armed only with your ideas.

That is possible. Sometimes people try to shoot themselves in the temple and just end up destroying their optic nerves. I watched a show (true crime) and this detective described going to a call where a man had done this and was feeling the floor, trying to find the gun for a second shot and they had to jump on him. That's a rough day at work.

I was considering household poison and this disillusioned me. I can't imagine dying so horrificly.
