Discussion Any Christians on here?

i feel as though this community (as most somewhat rational online communities) is mainly dominated by agnostics and atheists, which is understandable, considering the philosophy of this site and the though process behind being pro-choice. i feel as though in reality 'christianity' (whatever the modern man percieves religion as, at least, which i believe to be far from actual faith) is vastly overrepresented, i dont blame the non-believing minority of people wanting to congregate online at all, i fully understand it.

but are there any other christians on here? whats your view on suicide, whats your connection with God like, do you think you can recieve forgiveness? anything you feel is important for other people to hear in this topic?

I identify as an Orthodox Christian, but my personal faith looks different from traditional dogmatic preaching. thats similar to how i view God and faith, too! though i definitely do believe in a lot of the dogmatic elements of the religion and i find that there is a lot of wisdom in the bible, i find it important to seperate my faith from the church, whenever it is necessary, which is often.

i believe that an all loving God opens himself up to disappointment and vulnerability, just by believing in his creation too much. I believe that causing such pain in your own creator by throwing away what hes worked so hard for you to have is a sin in itself. But I also think that God's main goal is to lift those in need of his help up. Love is the most important element in his universe, it would be strange to eternally damn someone for their pain, without allowing them redemption, or ever allowing them calmness and comfort. And my near death experiences have been peaceful and warm too, which led me to believe there's always love in his perception of us. no matter how far we're forced to stray by life and pain.

While not baptized, I do believe in Jesus and God.
But I wouldn't call myself a Christian. My faith is too weak and forced for me to call myself that. I don't like some of christianitys rules as I find them a bit too strict and just can't find myself constantly learning and searching for answers... I fear I'm a "lukewarm Christian" or not one at all.
I still entrust God with my wishes, even though they somewhat go against the bible...

I do not know what to think of suicide, besides it being "giving up". Judas hanged himself after betraying Jesus, which to me shows he felt such sadness and guilt, which makes him one of the most sorry people I ever knew (Well, heard of).

People tend to say that things are wrong and assume God's way of thinking. For me, I don't know what consequence suicide has, but if it is bad, I pray that those souls do not get into hell. I hate the concept of hell, especially for those who are already in one form of it.

It is being told throughout history how Jesus and God are Merciful, so I do think and hope that suicide, too, can be forgiven.
People tend to use the "Gift of God" and "Not trusting God" arguments when talking about why suicide is bad, which is a good point, I have to say.
But the spirit can only take as much, and there are things we just don't understand...

In the end, I hope every soul that decided they couldn't continue found peace.

I'm Catholic. Converted later in life, a rare good decision that put my family first. I know I messed up badly in life and would have done better to follow His teachings. When I did my life was good but then I always strayed. As for suicide and eternal suffering, I don't know what to think. I don't think I can continue living this life. I wonder why people on earth can wind up suffering, tortured, etc. It makes you question everything. Hell may just be the absence of heaven. Perhaps that's my fate. Just nothing. I do think about it some but mostly I just want out of this life. Or a change to restart. I can clearly see the life I was supposed to have.
