What does it feel to be on drugs like benzos? It'll take me some time to get my hands on them and I'd like to know what to expect.

Also do psychiatrists want you to try therapy first or they just give you the drugs and leave you alone? Or they want you to try both at once? I don't want to waste my fucking time, I don't want to cure my anxiety I want to cure the core of all diseases which is existence

It's difficult to properly articulate the effect of a lot of drugs, but I'll try!

It's not too unlike being a little drunk with a regular dose. You're calm. Not totally dizzy; not totally grounded either. You get a sense of euphoria, and calm. It frees your inhibitions, causing you to be less self conscious about the actions you're taking. Your movements have a certain 'swoosh' to them, and you get a sense everything is all well and good; that you're in control.

This is why they're quite dangerous. It's a very desirable feeling to try and maintain. I find the sweet spot is 1mg or less depending on tolerance (probably around 0.5mg to be sensible). Between 3mg - 5mg is when blackouts occur for me, and I'm generally quite sensible with booze and drugs. I once baked a cake in the hours between 2am - 6am during one blackout - very funny, but a bit worrying!

If you're considering getting your hands on some, be careful. They have their uses, but there's a reason benzos get so much negative press.

Pure tranquility. Anxiety literally melts away. They're tranquillisers but I don't find them sedating (unless I've taken too much), in fact I find them quite stimulating because of the relief from constant anxiety I can think normally.

Psychiatrists most likely won't prescribe you benzos (unless you're in the US where they directly profit from it and are essentially licensed drug dealers) because of their addiction potential

A kid in my school got drugs for anxiety after one week here in Romania (i don't know what he gave him though, but he didn't do cognitive therapy)

I guess eastern europe psychiatrists are just lazy or think teenagers are too stupid for CBT so they just give us drugs and make money

Yeah I don't know what it's like in Romania but in the UK if you ask for benzos you'll get treated like a drug seeking addict.

I was actually never prescribed them for anxiety. It was for acute muscle spasms. I found out by accident how well they worked for anxiety and then self medicated with them 'off-label'.

Once or twice I've managed to get some black market but it's hard to come by

Actually recently to my surprise I saw a compassionate doctor who referred me to the mental health team and gave me a short course of diazepam as she could see how much I was suffering and because I react badly to antidepressants took mercy on me

Well If I can't get them I could stop sleeping for 60 hours and get the same effect I guess? Not sleeping should affect the Central Nervous System somehow

No, not the same effect at all.

I haven't slept for more 60 hours and I don't feel anything like on benzos, quite the opposite actually.

Good luck getting some.

Never taken benzos but for me the best effect was combining kava kava and alcohol-it gives you a nice buzz that takes a while to wear off and is not as addictive as benzos. Kava kava is not addictive as booze but still must be used in moderation

Actually if you got some and took a therapeutic dose for the first time I'd be willing to bet you don't feel like ctb

Well I'll try and if he says "do cognitive behavioral therapy instead, son" I'll just give him the money for that session and never see him again and hope one day I'll do it with just alcohol and some courage

Lucky!

I've taken clonazepam (a friend hasn't epilepsy) and I don't find them as anxiolytic as diazepam (valium)

Etizolam on the other hand, wow... felt totally fucked!

I don't know about that. But sex on benzos is pretty amazi
That's interesting. Clonazepam is ten times stronger than valium. Etizolam is a drug I've never tried before. I don't think I've ever tried any in the thienotriazolodiazepine family of drugs.

I'm sure you've been warned, but during the first couple weeks, the medication can intensify your negative feelings. I took Zoloft and I almost went back a few days later to tell the doc he gave prodrepression pills by mistake. Then once they kick in, you don't feel better, you feel nothing. I did not give a fuck about anything. I rather be dead then go back to being a zombie. It differs for everyone though, that's just my personal experience with them.

1mg clonazepam is equal to 10mg diazepam, but obviously I've never taken 10mg! It's stronger pound for pound but different in its effect. Also diazepam has a longer half life.

I had etizolam when it was available as a research chemical, interesting drug, particularly reverse tolerance. Could actually feel it get stronger!

Fuck this thread is making me feel like I could kill for some benzos!

He's talking about benzos, not SSRIs

I can never see how anything that makes you feel worse at first is ever a good thing to put in your brain
