Figure out what exactly? I only glanced at the article but it's just a regular joe hanging himself. Nothing new really. Only be reported on because he's a policeman right?

I think they meant figure out how to hang themselves. There are tons of reported failures on the forum. It seems hanging isn't as easy as it sounds.

Almost like people constantly hating them for doing their jobs and having to spend years of their life learning the trade only to find out the real action isn't something they like since it's mostly just pulling over people for speeding tickets or breaking up a wife and husband arguing too loudly at night is a bad thing. Not surprising they feel their only way out is to ctb at that point they find themselves in.

I assume he had easy access to a gun but he chose to hang himself.

I applied to be a police officer years ago. By the time I made it to the final steps of the process, I realized that it wasn't for me and dropped out of the process. Best decision I ever made.

Its a tough job. My friend is an NYPD retired detective n doesn't recommend any of his fam to go into that line of work.. Unfortunately, the respect for the badge has declined over the yrs, esp in cities like NY... so sad...

People who are determined to end their lives via hanging will find a way to do it. They are not going to stop because of SI. They push through whatever discomfort or pain with a determination to end their life.
