Nowadays I rarely go on reddit, especially after the censorship, quarantines, and bans of particular subreddits. However, I did recently check TTG for activity and found a good thread regarding it:

Edit: I tried to use the hyperlink to text option in formatting, but it doesn't work for some reason. Instead, I've just manually put it in using html tags.

Also, some users on that thread has posted some good quotes:

Going to a therapist is like warning the police you're planning a terrorist attack.

Therapy is useless. They don't know that lack of B causes dementia and lack of C causes extreme distress and both causes us to be severely exhausted and impaired in every way...

I myself, am well beyond the point of therapy, mental health counseling, it's utterly useless for me, a waste of time, and even dangerous for me (don't want to risk getting welfare check, suspicions, or even getting hospitalized against my will). Therefore, anyone IRL who even hints or suggests it is quickly shut down by me and I briefly (if they didn't know me before nor know of the situation) explain that therapy is useless and then move on.

It must be because of societal, government, and big pharma pushing it. Once religion starts to lose it's power over the masses (it's still really strong but not as strong as it was centuries or more ago), a new evil, psychiatry sprung up and with it along with big pharma and what not, it starts to push this whole therapy and treatment for everyone (even for trivial or non-existent problems). Sometimes it even pathologizes natural behaviors and reactions to a mad world as illnesses or disorders. Anything DSM-V and beyond is horse shit, not that DSM-IV or so is any better or merciful..
