Whenever you look up upon assisted suicide/euthanasia websites and the methods they have, some are inevitably going to have "not for suicide due to mental issues". That really annoys me, are they putting that for legal reasons or just to annoy people.

It also annoys me how many people on online forums can't understand why assisted suicide would be granted for someone without a terminal illness? I don't know why this idea is that you have to be dying in pain just to be allowed suicide. Why can't people conceive that someone who is physically healthy but a complete mess mentally be allowed to end their life. 'Funny' how this creates the stigma of mental illness not being real because these people are coming from the position that even if you're mentally broken, things can work out in the end.

And you know what really bugs me about this, none of this people care if your mental illness means you can't take care of yourself and you end up on the street. They'll say "Oh, that was just an unfortunate thing, nothing we could have really done"...well there was something that could have been done you pro-life c*nts. You could have allowed euthanasia for long term depression and debilitating mental illnesses/developmental disorders.

One of the arguments which I hope you could debunk from someone I've heard is:

"suicide for non-terminal illness is like killing someone without being in any danger, both are cowardice".

People who say this either have never lived with chronic mental illness/unlivable life circumstances or have some weird view that life is inherently beautiful and a gift.

That said, I do think it would be unwise for someone who has the sort of mental illness that makes them completely off their head to kill themselves. One should be lucid and rational in terms of 1+1=2 thought processes when making the decision. That said, I would imagine everyone on this website is lucid, because otherwise they wouldn't be able to plan a successful method properly over a period of time.

Also, the quote you put there is a false equivalence. Killing someone else is wrong because you're taking away som life without consent. Killing yourself is making an autonomous decision concerning your own body. Whatever your stance on abortion (I'm pro-choice up to a point) it's like comparing aborting your own 4-week-old fetus to forcibly aborting someone else's 4-week-old fetus, which would clearly be morally wrong. And it's funny because many of the pro-lifers concerning suicide are probably pro-choice regarding abortion: hypocrisy at its finest. My body, my choice, unless you want to kill yourself.

It's insulting that the world at large doesn't think people are capable of making an informed and rational decision to end their own lives.

Decision to CTB shouldn't even have to be explained, we should have the right to CTB for a single pinprick if we wanted.

Yes, i'm a hardcore antinatalist.

But even if i weren't, i'd accept natalism only in the condition that the means for sure and painless suicide are available for everybody.

Being a natalist + for suicide prohibition makes one an awful person, a tyrant IMHO. I can be forgiving for natalists who are for suicide rights for everybody, but not for the first category.
