I edited when I saw you said hemophilia above. I have vascular insufficiency, so I know what lower extremity swelling and pain is like. It sucks, and there not a whole lot to be done aside from wrapping it and elevating. Did an injury trigger internal bleeding?

@RoseyBird said she has " vascular insufficiency " I also have the same issues due to all the clots and damage to the valves veins etc.. They wanted me to have stents put in and I'm delaying due to finances and fear. I do not know if it works the same way with hemophilia- but the nerves become damaged in my case. Lyrica has helped with that. I don't get the burning pins and needles 1/2 as bad now. Maybe ask your doctor for some lyrica? They have compression stockings of various mmhg I think it's called and sizes. Like ankle, to knee, thigh high. I have to wear a 20-30 mmhg thigh high. It helps reduce swelling and blood flow. Ask your doctor impressions on compression stockings. Hopefully you can ge tit covered via insurance. If insurance wont cover it- which mine wont. I buy cheap ones off Ames Walker. If you get a size and compression strength from doc and insurance wont cover it I can help walk you through ordering from Ames Walker. For you starting out I would suggest a 15-20 mmhg as a start. They are tight and helps the blood flow.
