Hearing of Alcohol deaths quite often, mostly not for suicide, but wouldn't it be

As a bipolar, when I drink I always overdrink and I am still here. I believe you drop unconsious before dying.

Not very reliable as passing out before alcohol poisoning is very easy, vomiting also. Also can be a not very pleasant way to pass. SN with the proper regimen is much better in all aspects, and is cheaper.

This topic always reminds me of the movie Last Vegas. If you are referring to alcohol poisoning, I think most people will vomit and/or pass out before reaching lethal levels. If you are referring to the process of consuming it over a course of time until your liver fails, I would imagine it to be slow and painful.

In Poland we know about a case of a man who drank twice enough to die and he survived. There was a dude who drank thrice too much and died from injuries from an accident that weren't related to drinking alcohol. None of them was a suicide attempt.
So I wouldn't be so sure that this is effective. And it is kinda expensive because you would have to drink much.
EDIT: even though the deadly dose is disputable drink responsibly, because you might be more sensitive to alcohol so don't drink too much if you don't want to ctb accidentally.

It's not reliable and while possible, it's usually a painful process. There are those that have managed to chug a bottle of very high proof liquor and die from it, as well as those that decide to absorb the alcohol rectally that have died. It's not exactly a good method, through and through.

I believe he had to be an experienced drinker. Nevertheless I also wouldn't recommend because of reasons already stated.

I am considering this myself. Downing a litre of vodka or tequila in an hour.
Have you watched that video of a man who binge drank a whole bottle of tequila at a club in Dominican Republic and then died on the spot a few minutes afterwards? He probably had already drunk a lot beforehand nevertheless but still. Gives me hope.

Your body can only process, normally, roughly an ounce per hour. Anymore than that is why we get drunk, suffer from hangovers (dehydration plays a part in this, especially with constant urination while drinking), or get alcohol poisoning. All excess alcohol starts going into the bloodstream and builds up a toxicity.

From an article I found:

An overdose can occur whenever a person drinks too much in a short amount of time. The liver can normally only process one drink worth of alcohol, which is a beer, a glass of wine, or a shot of liquor in an hour. Any more alcohol than that and the alcohol levels in the bloodstream begin to rise. In general, drinking more than five drinks in an hour puts a person at risk for an alcohol overdose, especially if they continue drinking at that rate for more than an hour.
On average, about 15 standard drinks in two hours is enough to result in a fatal overdose. Keep in mind that every person has a different alcohol tolerance. Being older, not being used to drinking, being a smaller weight, or being female can all reduce a person's ability to process alcohol and increase their risk of an overdose.

In short, drinking a shitload at once would be the best method, forces your liver and your body to nope on the spot or shortly after. Still, personally, not the best way to cash a ticket.

I've tried that many times by accident. It's a) not fun, b) reliability must be something like 1/100.000 because you'll vomit and just go unconscious.

This guy chugged a whole bottle of tequila and then passed out and died right there. I imagine if u can chug a liter of 150 proof alcohol it's sayonara .

No. This only happens by accident and it's not pleasant. You will vomit. Even if you are unconcious.

So essentially you die from liver failure?
Then definitely something to consider twice! I once overdosed on paracetamol, which resulted my liver taking a hit. I was hours in horrendous pain and had to vomit. And I wasn't even close to a liver failure. A risk to comsider is also, damaging your liver irreversibly while still surviving.

It's a mix of liver failure and all the excess alcohol getting into your bloodstream and thusly affecting/damaging your other organs. Brain, heart and kidneys will all suffer, as well. It's not a pretty way to go, it's unreliable and depends on the individual and surviving with a destroyed body is worse than just ending it. But, that's only my opinion.

I have entertained this method as a way to CTB, however, I am dubious towards it's reliability and success rate. Like others stated, your SI could kick in and you would involuntarily vomit out the excess alcohol.

Then also, depending on where you are (unless secluded place, far far away from other humans or emergency services), you could be revived when unconscious and then force fed activated charcoal and have your stomach pumped (not pleasant either), then shipped off to a psych ward for the attempt. All of which sounds unpleasant to me, not to mention racking up of a huge medical and hospital bill, then losing the ability to CTB effectively.

I would, however, use alcohol as a way to lower my SI, but not enough to impair my motor and cognitive function to the degree that I can't successfully and reliably CTB.

The problem for me is that I vomit if I drink to much. The best way would be alcohol and some benzo.
