Discussion After you're gone, what are your final wishes when it comes to burial, etc?

I've been thinking about it quite a bit. And honestly, I'd prefer to be cremated and have my ashes scattered by the lake near us, or have my remains nurture a tree. I think that would be really nice. What are your final wishes?

Whatever is cheapest to finalize everything. I am leaving a will and a POA to make sure of it. I do not want my passing to financially burden anyone at all. I do like the tree nurturing idea though.

I want to be buried where my father has chosen to be buried. Himself and my mother are divorced, and I worry she would force her hand that I be buried with her. So its something I try to say often enough to him, well try to in "casual" conversation.

I'd like my ashes to be scattered aswell, on a peaceful spot close to nature.
Wouldn't want anyone to know where, though. Not even my family...
To my face, they're always friendly, but deep down I know they question everything I do or say. Everytime I visit them, it feels like I'm going to a psych ward where the psychiatrists pretend to be my family. Couldn't describe it any better.

funerals are for the living. i can only urge my survivors to save as much money as possible. i'd prefer incineration, but without the "these are their ashes, honest! and in this beautiful free* urn" shenanigans. and yeah, if reincarnation is real. . . ouch. one sprawling sewer of "life lessons" isn't enough?

Same! I kind of want to leave a mix behind for my mother. Already working on one for my boyfriend.

I would like to rot in a field or something. I don't want anyone to find my corpse. No funeral. No burial or putting me in an urn, just worm food. That would be ideal.

As far as I'm concerned, they can throw my body in a dump. I understand and respect that surviving relatives and friends need closure, though. I leave it to them to decide.

I am buying a "cremation only" service. They collect your remains from the mortuary,cremate it and deliver the ashes to you chosen NOK. No funeral,wake,service,cars etc. Personally,I believe the last thing you need when you lose a loved one is dredging it all up again by spending £2K to give people who regret not spending more time with the deceased while they were alive,the opportunity to feel a bit better about themselves.
I'm currently interested in Alkaline hydrolosis though. It's like liquid cremation and more environmentally positive.

Really could care less, after all I'll be dead and my cares gone. Though I have always said when I die just throw me to the wolves lol. Let nature reclaim me.

That said, the last time I attempted, and failed. My note said to feed me to my dog that I'm about to lose. He's been a good boy who helped me a lot these last few months and I wanted to give him one last treat. Unfortunately since he really belongs to my ex he'll be long gone by the time I get to attempt again I'm afraid.

My mum opted for cremation and an urn.
The courier who was attempting to deliver her urn/ashes got the address wrong.
He phoned me from a nearby Casino, asking for the correct address.
My mum was definitely laughing from beyond this life! She would never enter a casino in a million years!

I really don't care what happens to my body. For all I care it can be tossed in a dumpster. However, I don't wish burial expenses on my family so I'd say cremation is the best way to go.
