Acceptance and Kindness in the face of death and suffering

I couldn't get on this website for a few hours tonight (some technical error) and I couldn't believe how much I missed it.

I have always been a person who saw the darkness in this world more than the light. Especially now when I am experiencing some serious shit.

Going on other social sites such as Facebook just make me almost physically ill. Seeing all those happy pictures, ugh!

But on this SS website, this is the real world. People who are suffering, in pain for all kinds of different reasons.

But the acceptance and kindness on this website is extraordinary. We can share our horror stories and no one will judge you harshly. No one will get scared that you might hurt yourself and call the authorities. This is the ONLY place I feel I can be my true self. Dark, macabre, suicidal, sad, lonely, scared, bitter, angry, grieving.

It is such a relief to have you in my life right now. Thank you.

This site is one of the few things in my life that's (almost) always there and where I can say and think whatever I want. I love this site and I wish I found it earlier.

I'm gonna be "that person" and remind everyone not to get too cozy or trusting here. Granted, it is nice to have an open forum for discussing such a taboo topic, but this is still the internet, and, well, we all know every nook and cranny of the web is vulnerable. You never know who may be watching. Goes without saying that revealing personal info is always a gamble, yada yada. Just be cautious is all.
