After being blunt about my problems to one professional, who actually encouraged being more vocal, their response summed up their attitude: "I don't see any point in detaining you because, your problems will still be there once you go home".

Ah therapists. I've been getting a lot of this lately:

"Treatment won't work if you don't believe it will work!!"

"You have to be more [active/social/etc.] if you want to get better!!"

"Ultimately YOU have to do the work!!"

Needless to say the only thing this is motivating me to do is to ctb.
