As of today I have everything I need to kill myself. (I don't like the CTB euphemism.). All from the local hardware store too. There was no weird drama of contacting remote sources to buy chemicals, no elaborate blueprints, no scouring the globe for bridges or tall buildings, just a trip to the store.
I may never visit that store again. Furthermore, no one there will know it was my last visit there.
Leaving the world will be like that too. Some people will be affected, but surprisingly few. A longtime employee at my workplace died a few months ago. It was sad for some people, but even by noon that day people were doing email, going to meetings, fussing over lunch, complaining. Death is like plucking an elastic.
The morning after I'm dead, the hardware store will open for business like it always does, and someone will walk down the same aisle and buy what I bought, and use it to upgrade their rec room or build some storage.
There are no ghosts. When I read people's posts here, it seems a lot of members want to believe in ghosts, and see themselves come back in some way. But none of us will ever see how quickly the world moves on.
