For You
For you, what is that I would not do?
If one could drown out the ocean's blue
And peer down into the depths so gray
Swallowing up the sun's only ray
If one could murder themselves from hate
If I myself had reached heaven's gate
Would you regret having left so soon?
Upon the light of the bloodred moon
Why can we not end the shallow rain?
Why do we suffer unending pain?
All has gone but a quagmire of love
Upon the flight of a thousand doves
For the prayers had never reached hope
All that remains is a single rope
Never have I asked for you to leave
But blessings I give; again we meet
I wrote this poem last year during a very dark stage of my life where I was experiencing deep emotional turmoil. Now that I think about it, it would also serve as the perfect suicide note.
I am open to anyone analyzing this poem. Please let me hear your thoughts on it.
I think poetry is a very profound and artistic way to express one's emotions and thoughts, especially when it seems like the message cannot be conveyed through traditional wording.
