Because there's gonna be a brass casing at your feet with rifling marks from that weapon and the weapon has a bunch of serial numbers on every part that registers back to his name. The cops want to know because like I said, it's FELONY MANSLAUGHTER to provide a weapon to a suicidal person. When they find your body; not if, when; your friend is gonna be doing 5 years minimum. God forbid if a kid or criminal finds it and kills someone. Then your friend faces murder

That doesn't answer why he's responsible or obligated to do it. Are you going to let me borrow your car to drive it off a cliff? So let's say you pay him somewhere between 1k-10k, the price of "not one but several" guns. All of that is going to be spent on a lawyer that is ultimately going to lose the case because there's no debating he commuted a crime. If you're not able to go to a store and buy a weapon yourself, then clearly you're not meant to have one regardless of where it comes from. I'm the same age as you, no one is going to just hand you a suicide method then pat you on the back and say "don't do anything I wouldn't do"

Please, if your friend means anything to you at least respect his feelings and decision. I would never give a gun to my friend to let him kill himself, not because I want him to suffer or don't respect his life, but I'll be traumatized a lot, I'd feel myself as murder. Your friend has free will, too. You're not entitled to his guns if he doesn't want to sell them to you, regardless of the reason.

I'm all about choice, but I think he's being a good friend. Legal issues aside, people don't want bad things to happen to their friends. He's not forbidding you to hurt yourself, but he's not being part of it either. That should also be respected.
