Anyone else sought out non-hard drug use as a means of coping? It goes without saying It's not particularly effective or healthy, but I was just wondering how it went for everyone else. Back in March I started to smoke THC vapes along with alcohol, and just recently I tried nicotine pouches. I've reached a point where I'm willing to do just about anything to feel like a normal person for a little bit, even if I know this isn't the right way to go about it.

Alcohol isn't a good way of coping, but it really does help if you don't overdo it. THC can help too, but if you become dependant on it like me and start doing it all day every day, you'll feel like a zombie. It's an emotional and physical numbness, but again, in moderation it's not so bad. You just have to avoid overdoing it. Nicotine is a little scary because of how much stress it takes away. I'm being careful not to become addicted to it, because that's not something I want to deal with on top of everything else.

Have you ever used drugs as a coping method? If it's something harder than what I've mentioned, you can discuss it, I don't judge. I'll outright confess and say there's been several days I've thought about turning to street drugs just to feel something.

Yeah its not a cure all like some people claim, it's not suited for everyone. None of the stuff I mentioned is really "worth it" necessarily, but for me personally, they can act as a decent crutch. I'm a caffeine addict and It does nothing for me except keep the withdrawal away, so I feel you there.

I've had some good result with small amounts of 100% sativa. It helped me relax, without killing my productivity when dosed correctly.

Otherwise, from what I've seen, drugs are a waste of time, when not directly harmful.
Would not recommend.

I think having many drug options and touching all of them lightly is better than getting into one thing too much. They will never legalize THC or Kratom in where I live but I wish they would.

Hey!:)

I would be SUPER careful going down this path.i use to be super anti drug. Then I went from smoking weed to fenty in like 6/7 months. Eventually the feeling from the lesser drug will go away & you'll get into harder and harder stuff to obtain that feeling. It can easily become an addiction if you start using as a coping mechanism.

I am less than a year out of drug treatment for the fenty addiction. Treatment is HARD! If you're in the US, the meds they give you in treatment are literally more addictive and have worse withdrawal symptoms than the actual drugs. I've been off methadone for a year & still have withdrawal symptoms from it. And I was given it every day for a year through a doctor.

Recovery is definitely a reason I want to CTB. But I also get using drugs in order to not CTB.

If you're just going for that "numb" feeling, a clear mind, not caring about all of the pain, etc.. drugs will help. But it's a SLIPPERY slope.

Also everything you buy on the street now is laced. I didn't even know I was consuming fenty until after my body was already addicted to it. I started relying on bars, eventually I got some pressed with fenty. And then nothing could fix that craving.

I'm not going to tell you what to do, more so sharing my store. Ultimately it is your life and you are free to live it however you'd like.

Now a days, I smoke thcA religiously. It's both legal & effective in my state. I have to alternate methods (wax, flower, edibles) but it helps. It's not ENOUGH for me, but it helps.

I personally smoke some weed every once and a while, like once every couple of months. I find it's nice to do with a couple people and just relax. I also tend to use CBD products to help me relax if my anxiety is very severe. It's about using things in moderation. I am addicted to nicotine though, not the greatest thing but it's not too bad. I just feel grumpy if I don't have a fag lol.

Exactly, I have personally seen my brother fall down the slippery slope from "I'll just smoke weed once in a while" to doing coke and heroin. It's about doing things in moderation, and not becoming reliant on the drug.

im not sure cbd would count. i think it was specifically designed for a child because it doesnt have thc (doesnt get you high) and she had something serious like cancer or something. it was a story i read awhile ago and now when i google im only finding "should you..." (well thats not what i asked you, thanks google 😒)

i would 100% still be using this, it did miracles for my back when i was vaping it, stupid government. and the caramels (a higher more instant dose) helped severe pain almost immediately.
i swear that cbd stuff is heaven XD

No CBD is a miracle drug, I'm so glad it's legal in the UK. It probably doesn't count as like a proper drug, but man it is soso helpful. I use these bath bombs infused with it when I'm having a very anxious episode, and man does the warm water and the CBD help so much. I also have a vape of it incase something happens when I'm out and about.

I appreciate your concern. I know it's not ideal by any means, and I'm cognizant of what I'm doing to make sure it never gets too much. I may not have worded it the beat, even though I've thought about street drugs I would never actually try them. I've made a vow to never get stuff off the streets. I'm too scared to risk it. Frankly, it's just environmental stresses pushing me to use stuff like what I mentioned. I wouldn't encourage others to do what I'm doing really, I know it's unhealthy, but it gets desired results. I've actually stopped smoking carts as much as I used to for a bit because it was making me feel worse. Now I just use it on occasion and it makes me feel significantly better and actually helps.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you can recover properly and come out clean and happy on the other side. Thank you for taking the time to write all that.

It has me pretty excited to see how enthusiastic people are for CBD, I just ordered a blue raspberry cbd vape yesterday. It's a big help having something to look forward to.

I friend of mine keeps telling me:

When you do drugs, it will never be as good again as it was the first time...

You need more and more for the same effect.

I have a kinda strange way of doing things, where I'm sober most of the time and I have a couple drinks every now and then, but I have a huge bender a few times every year on certain days. During those benders I get shitfaced drunk and also take benzos or opioids at the same time. I'm very careful with the doses I take, and I only take drugs that I know for sure came from a pharmacy.

What exactly is kratom like? I've heard of it but I'm not familiar with it.

low dose like a gram or 2 feels like extreme caffine(or mild aderall) but i love it at 8ish g it feels like a mild opium rush and full sedation. I get wobbly legs and im usually in a great mood afterwards.

What exactly is kratom like? I've heard of it but I'm not familiar with it.
Mild mood boost and at lower doses energy, higher doses sedation.
One "benefit" to kratom vs hardcore opioids is that (at least for me) it will punish you if you do too much, i.e. nausea, headache, and a hangover. Like alcohol but you aren't witless like with alcohol so you don't make the same mistake.
However it is an addictive cope and consumption can rise quickly, some people ending up taking like 50+ grams per day of the powder.
I noticed that if I am SUPER depressed as fuck, in tears, anxiety attack, body in agony etc. then just a tiny bit goes a long way. Just 500mg-1.5g can make you feel 'okay' not high for a couple hours. After 2-3 hours the hell feeling might return. Combine with CBD can extend the chill effect.

For me I abused cannabis until it just became hell so I took a 4-month break, will try again on Tuesday actually.
I try to keep a 'rotation of sins' to reduce dependence/tolerance to each substance like for example take something every other day, but try to have as many drugs or copes as possible to make sure you use a different one each time.
i.e.
Monday - Kratom
Wednesday - Alcohol
Friday - Weed
Sunday - phenibut
Tuesday - mushrooms
Thursday - DXM
Saturday - back to Kratom --ideally finding more and more drugs to abuse over time etc.

But I try to keep kratom tolerance low cuz it's sorta the most reliable. Honestly maybe I should just start doing hard opioids and at least have a chance to OD. I don't have social circle so it's not like someone would find me.

This isn't healthy. Just sharing how I have managed to stay alive. I've been "working" on getting ready to CTB for months now. But yeah...fuck. This is the best I can hope for in life. Too stupid and fucked up to even do the basics like arrange for my cremation and sort my belongings and shit to make it easier on my family. Probably my cowardice coming through in sneaky ways.

Best luck to you.
