Welcome to a Music Megathread!
Post your favorite music or least favorite music and talk about it. Why do we enjoy it? Why do we like it? Why don't we like it?

Don't just post a video, post a sentence or a few about the song! Give us an idea about how you feel about it. Try to put some substance into it.

If you're responding to a post, please don't quote the entire video or post a video, unless your response requires a video. Just quote what they said, and how you feel about it.

Please be respectful!

I like this song because it describes alot of emotions I feel, feeling like ur destiny is already decided and that getting help is impossible, that ur too far gone. And the lead singer ian curtis commited suicide and his songs often reflected his pain and were from the heart.

I like this song because when I listen to this I can sit back, close my eyes and just forget about all of the bullshit. Not a lot of songs can do that to me, but this one somehow does.

I've sat in my chair for hours just daydreaming to this song one time. It was...nice.

Young man. I have a gift for you.

Sit down, take your shoes off, put on some headphones, and let this just flow through you. Shuggie Otis (The singer) wrote the song, and played all the instruments himself. This song is best appreciated with the help of plants.

Milotic by Sabrepulse. I've always been a fan of chiptune but this song makes me feel like I'm being lifted up into the heavens while playing my Gameboy. Because of songs like this one, I've thought about actually buying a refurbished Gameboy with LSDJ software to make my own chiptunes.

I love this song because it's aggressive nature. I love black metal. I found it in 2008 after a psychopath who I thought loved me screwed me over. I listened to a lot of "angry" music to try and mask the pain. I still love black metal.

I've had so many of these feelings and still do. One of the most relatable songs I've ever heard. I never have cut like what the song describes, but the pain is there. The way BadFlower sings it, I can feel his pain! Beautiful song.

TOOL was my favorite band growing up and whenever I listen to them I realize why. Not only is the music good, but I've loved the deeper meanings behind the lyrics of their songs.

recently started digging into Peter Gabriel's solo work

This song is great, and I find it relatable in terms to its description of my thought process and inner monologue (my personal interpretation/relation, not necessarily the intended meaning)

I fell in love with Tool when i got very sick last winter. Lateralus was my top played car album, it put me in a space that I can't describe. it really resonated closely with me and the way my brain was operating at the time, really is something else

I fucking love Sabrepulse. His 2005 album, Famicom Connection changed my life and was a pioneer work with chip tune. His 2005 EP Nintendokore was my Habbo Hotel shitposting anthem. I can't even begin to tell you how many nights 16 year old me would stay up all night listening to Sabrepulse and just Internet the night away with 4chan.

I love this song. I love many by this band. I find this song very haunting but beautiful, and some of the lyrics resonate. I find it emotive yet comforting. "There's love, there is a saviour, but that ain't no love of mine, my love it kills me slowly, slowly I could die".

This song has become sort of a meme in itself. I listen to it at the gym. If we gave anger a microphone, this is what it would sound like. I've read somewhere that ID or Bethesda originally did not want heavy metal in doom. I just kind of lol'd at that. What kind of game would Doom 2016 be without this? Mick Gordon (The composer) quickly became one of my favorite composers.

I listen to a lot of game soundtracks. I'm excited for the new Darksiders III, but also still play the 2nd one because of the music:

I chose this song because it is a song made by a wonderful group of black men that is absent of: sex, drugs, "hoes", cars, or criminal intent. This is in fact my favorite band and they are an R&B/jazz fusion band. I am honestly embarrassed by alot of songs, made by my people that obsessively talk about sex, and are non-kid friendly, and non-radio friendly. When I used to go to 24 Hour Fitness Gym they would play mumble rap and regular (c)rap music and it would piss me off so much because there are people in the gym that haven't been initiated to African American music and you're (24 Hour Fitness Gym) straight feeding them low quality rap as their initial taste? Ugh. That is a point of contention with me, I was so mad at 24 Hour Fitness. Well, these guys here are classy. They each play an instrument or two and the lead singer used to be the drummer. Give this song a try, it'll be refreshing.

Was that an extra clever intentional pun? Or just a punny coincidence?

I liked this song because it speaks to me about being a more real human and genuine person.

Really good idea for a thread thanks @Threads

I will periodically add sad/calming/peaceful/quieter music's when I think of them.

This is just a sad song with sad lyrics... It resonates with my mood at the moment. And I think many of us can connect with the meaning of the lyrics.

There is a lot of sad music I like to listen to, but I think the music that feels most comforting and relatable to me when I feel lost is the music of Songs: Ohia, aka. Jason Molina. The music itself feels lonely, like something that's far removed from people. To me, it evokes an image of just walking through an endless, autumnal forest, following rusty traintracks that have not seen use in years and along the way there are abandoned factories and mines being slowly overtaken by nature.

I kinda imagine death to be like that. Just embarking on a journey alone, further and further getting away from others. I find that to be a very comforting thought and that's how a lot of their music feels like to me.

Edit: Sorry if this is kinda melodramatic, haha

Basically anything Maynard Keenan touches is gold to me. This song always hit me in a particular way that I never really had with anything else.

I lost my innocence when I first heard this song. On that day I knew I turned into a man. The video to the song is not bad either.
I like uplifting songs like this one.

Definitely not an uplifting tune (I guess having the word "dead" in the band name AND the song title is a giveaway) but I find it haunting and hypnotic, yet it's dynamic at the same time. There's definitely a dark energy.
