Is it possible that spiritual work could help you solve your problems?

I'm sure it'll solve some people's problems, but not everyone's. It's a case by case basis, y'know. I personally think magic is really cool.

So far what I tried didn't work but spirit does infuse everything in the form of energy so there must be a unique solution for everyone I suppose.

I'm undecided. I doubt it to the extent that I don't believe it could make things better. But I believe in it enough to not want to mess about with it. I wouldn't try an ouija board or anything like that.

I believe that if spirituality exists then magic surely does too, it can solve problems and cause problems and obviously it's not for everyone

Yeah, it's not fake or bullshit like others here claim.

But... it doesn't seem to be the way it's portrayed in movies or TV shows.

It seems like the potency of a prayer/manifestation/spell directly correlates to one's intention and faith.

Read The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot.

It's incredible how the human mind is able to bend reality sometimes.

I have an affinity for rituals. I was a Vaisnava (Hindu) temple priest when I was younger. I engaged in a variety of rituals daily. Different than magic in some ways, but similar in many more. Most of the ceremonies/rituals I did were focused on purification - using items like water, mantra, oils, salt, smoke, wind, fire - for the purpose of making offerings to the deity.

Whatever your purpose, cleaning/clarifying your setting is important.

May you all achieve what you set your mind to. 🫂💖

I would need more details on what kind of magic and rituals.

I am a supporter of spirituality, generally. I doubt whatever magic you're contemplating works the way it is intended, but I think some rituals and practices help us tap into the part of our brain we normally don't access. Just like how music can touch your "soul" and make you feel a certain way nothing else does.

In both the Old Testament and New, God condemns in the harshest terms trying to contact the dead or spirits (demons). We are told to stay in our lane and not dabble in occult practices.

If you've ever seen the series A Haunting, lots of people have opened a Pandora's Box of paranormal problems by disobedience.

Do you really need a whole bunch of needless spiritual fights?

No shade, but I just find it interesting that religious people will claim that every foray into the occult will result in spiritual consequences/results but can't account for why alternatively, not all religious people who pray and conduct religious practices receive results.

Also, speaking of hauntings, there have been cases of people moving into homes where they suffered jinn/demonic attacks, but getting the place blessed, exorcised, and utilizing prayer did absolutely nothing to thwart or stop the attacks.

No offense taken.

I did not say (and do not believe) every dabbling into occult leads inevitably to spiritual attack. The way I heard it described is that you are now blinking on their radar. They may or may not respond. But you are still "asking for trouble", as my father used to say. Plus, it doesn't make God happy….

If you watch that series A Haunting you'll see many cases where the human victims ended up having to sell or abandon their homes. Occasionally the attacks would follow them, sometimes the attacks would continue against new residents and sometimes they would just stop. Again, even if the probability of bad stuff happening is small, the possible severity of that harm is so great the rational, the logical choice is to not dabble with the occult but to actively avoid it.

Do not mess around with Ouija boards. Do not open that portal or go anywhere near one. Especially if you are depressed or have suicidal thoughts. These entities that are let in latch on to hurting souls and will make life miserable.
If you believe there are evil entities haunting you, look up how to get blessings or remove curses or whatever to get rid of them. Say a prayer, whether it's the Lord's prayer. The Gayatri Mantra, or whatever prayer of protection in whatever faith you follow.

This extends beyond religion. There is a reason why religious texts not only limited to the Old Testament say not to conjure or commune with the dead. Most of us are not prepared to handle what's on the other side and these evil entities pretend to be our loved ones.

Yes I believe in magic but in this world / time-line/ lifetime, we are not in touch with our abilities. We feel helpless without them but we are meant to learn and experience what we set out to do here.

My profession is a rogue, so I'm not the biggest supporter of magic...

But seriously, I don't believe in "magic".
Of course I don't deny that meditation, in some sense rituals, and other such things can have a positive effect on the psyche.
But I don't think it has anything to do with magic. It's just psychology.
People overinterpret these phenomena as magic.
We humans have an inner need to believe in the supernatural, so it doesn't surprise me.

An interesting thing is that people who have turned away from "great" religions like Christianity, are more likely to believe in astrology, divination, etc.
In this way, these people fill their spiritual gap.

So to sum up, I don't believe in "magic".
I think it's just a misinterpretation.
There's a thin line between magic and science.

Due to the internet and information being so easily accessible, I feel like it took away a bit the "magic" of life. Nothing is really unknown anymore and its hard to believe magic or spirits exist.

I do feel like life would be more interesting if there was some more magic or spirituality. But I agree with other posters that it's all bullshit.

I could write for eons on this. Hell, I have been a Laveyan Satanist since my teen years. I am not a card carrying member of the CoS but I know quite a bit of that flavour of the occult.

And yes, you can say we're atheists, but, if you read the actual texts Lavey wrote, he lead on to the idea that he was agnostic on the matter of ritual magic. The gist was - if it accomplishes your goals, so be it.

He wasn't firm one way or another on whether or not magic was real as he worked at a carnival and this lead to his ritual ceremonies mainly being theatrical to stick it to organized religion. Think of it as shock value for those times.

But, this opens a whole flood gate of different branches of magic and ceremonies that can be found in grimoires that he patched together, again, for the theatrical elements.

Now, I have experienced things that are inexplainable and know from first-hand knowledge that magic is real (IMHO) but... could you repeat this experience or experiences in a lab setting? No! Could you repeat a lot of science we take for granted in a lab setting, also, no...

I'm thinking of complex weather systems and neural activity of the brain. Oh, and let's not forget psychiatry. We're basically still in the dark ages regarding psychiatry.

His final thoughts on the matter were, that what we consider to be magic would be one day explained with scientific data.

Just like if you went back 100 years with a cell phone, many would consider it to be magic or wouldn't be able to explain it in any rational sense.

My take on the whole thing is the same. Ritual magic produces results based on intent but be very careful what you wish for...

I don't believe it. I think it is more about people trying to make sense of something or influence their lives. That said, if someone believes in it, not my place to judge them (except if it negatively affects their life).
