MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian national postal service Ukrposhta redirects international shipments, which previously went through Poland, to the United Kingdom, which allows it to drastically cut the delivery time.

Ukrposhta is also in talks with the UK national postal service Royal Mail on lowering tariffs and improving conditions for Ukraine, Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smilyansky told Ukrainian media.

"Poland is one of the countries due to which we have certain delays in the delivery of international parcels. That is why we have redirected parcel flows via the UK. Now every day we have at least one truck going to London. Customers have already felt this acceleration," he said.

Ukrposhta has also been dealing with DHL through Poland, but the delivery times were not satisfactory, therefore, the shipments were redirected to the UK, Smilyansky said.

"Now we have a record delivery by vehicle from Kiev to London in 37-40 hours," Smilyansky said, noting that if it is possible to agree with USPS, goods from Amazon to Ukraine will also go through the UK.

"They will be delivered to London and will be in Ukraine in a day," Smilyansky said.
