What do you think? Totally sounds like a suicide attempt. And given his recent struggles with chronic back pain and remarks that he'd rather not live if he had to live with it...

Going 85+ in a 40 mph speed limit in an area he was familiar with. 99% acceleration rate. No break pedal whatsoever.

I think he doesn't want to tarnish his reputation. Make it look like an accident. N would be a clear suicide.

I think your theories about making it look like an accident make sense because as you said, if he really felt like, he could easily get SN, N or even OD with drugs instantly.

Maybe he's protecting his family from a bad reputation?

I was thinking this too. At the same time, it could just be a rich guy being a reckless asshole. But the signs point to suicide attempt to me, plus the fact that he wasn't on any substances at the time.

The more I think about this it sounds definitely possible. Why would he be flooring it and going so fast especially with the sharp curve coming up? He's been through a lot, only getting older, and his career will never be what it was. It would be a good way to disguise it, but also very risky. Who knows?
