I really want to die but I'm afraid of what the next plane of existence will be like assuming there is one. I just want to be free from this pain, but I don't want to enter into something worse. I don't know if anyone is religious or spiritual on here, but do you worry about hell or some purgatory? How do you look past this or is it just a risk we're going to have to take?
I'm 99% sure there is no afterlife. I understand that you are not. But, if you believe you are already living in hell, then suicide becomes easier.

But how are you sure of that? I sincerely want to know so that I can be more comfortable with that idea and taking my own life. I grew up in a very religious family so it's been ingrained in me that there must be a God and heaven, hell, etc. It's hard to undo that thinking. I just feel stuck and like things will get worse if I kill myself because "sin" smh
I grew up in a very religious family life, too. But, the religion I was raised said that the anti-christ was going to descend. That doesn't seem logically possible or scientifically plausible along with most religious claims :(
Just try to do something good/meaningful with the only life you get- this one.

I understand completely. I have the same worry and concerns. If death is simply a final sleep to non existence, then its not death I am afraid of, it's life after life of forced torment.
It's not clear to me God has any love for men on Earth.
Maybe He'll condemn us all to hell for not suffering longer huh.

As an atheist I am not concerned but I understand that as a believer it is an issue that worries you. If I already backed off with a "clear conscience", knowing me, surely if I were a believer it would cost me more CTB.

Why can't people who believe in the afterlife get a little more playful/creative? Are eternal damnation & eternal bliss the only scenarios you're able to come up with? You have such lazy imaginations... 
I also like to think that there's past lives, future lives, and that maybe if I decide to leave this life before "my time", I can possibly enter a new one and start over. I personally believe there is nothing after death and that thought comforts me. I think we return to the same nothingness that we originally came from. I do understand why you would be scared, it's just the unknown. For me even if there was some kind of afterlife, it wouldn't be this life and I wouldn't be me. Whatever happens after death is inevitable, it will simply just happen to us.
Are you scared something like a hell? I'll tell you why I'm not: we're already living in one. Don't believe me? Just visit a children's hospital and look at how much they're suffering and just dying.

I agree, we are already living in hell - on a planet full of suffering and injustices. Death will be a liberation.

Like the second you die, your pretty much time travelling since you have no conscience of time.
Like how when you in a coma, days/weeks/months pass by like a second.
Since we die we can't re-collect a moment in time like we do when we're alive. So it's like time travelling without a endpoint

Not in the least bit scared of the "after life" because I *know* it doesn't exist. I am 100% this is all there is. That being the case, the only thing which terrified me is still being alive this time next year.

The christian hell may be disproven by fancy graphs and theories, but scientific explanations of the afterlife are even spookier shit. The universe repeating itself, undying consciousness and quantum immortality scare me much more. Hell has reasons for existing (not the best reasons but still), this world is just mindless suffering with zero justification.
