[Caustic Cardinals]

frantic,
frantic for release
liberation from this toxic state of self-disbelief .
clawing,
clawing at this fleshy cage
claws hopeless helpless rage.
Scars, bruises cuts burns
memories
the trauma churns,

There will come soft rains

They will come soft rains and the smell of the earth,
And swallows circling with their faint sounds;

And frogs in ponds sing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white.

Robins will wear his plumed fire,
Whistling their whims on a wire fence.

And no one will know of the war, no
It will worry at the end when everything is finished.

No one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If humanity completely perished;

And Spring herself, when she wakes at dawn
Just it would realize we're gone.

An earthquake
Incandescent fire,
Lost time,

No longer waiting

The winter's snow

Just to let you know that I took 8gm. of an anti-epileptic in the summer. My roomies came home, and well....here I am. My initial plan was to wait until winter. Walking, staying awake was impossible on such a high dose and freezing, although not pleasant, would definitely have meant my demise.
