Does any one wish they'd get more random PMs from users on this site?

Or, would you find it annoying to get unsolicited messages about nothing in particular?

I have a hard time maintaining some chat/PM relationships because I'm never sure what to say. I'm always worried I'll offend or become a bore.

But "hellos" are still nice.

I think it's something where I'd be genuinely appreciative of the thought, but I still have trouble holding a conversation or maintaining a relationship, so it might not turn into a very interesting talk.

I have lots of PM conversations but I haven't really started any myself come to think of it. I'm going to be better at that from now on, because you're right, it does feel nice to be personally acknowledged. The conversation doesn't have to be interesting, and you are not obligated to reply as soon as you see it. I'll be sending out PMs more often, and my inbox is always open if anybody wants to start one with me

We do have a discord. It's very friendly and you can just pop in and say hi to others.

I'd use it, but then my other online user name would be attached to SS and I want to keep my use of this site private. Don't cross the streams and all that

But I like having it when SS goes down. I hate the feeling of being disconnected to people here when it's not available even if I won't post on there.

I like them, everyone has always been nice. I am a little inept though, and I am too boring to maintain contact over the long haul, so it tends to happen in dribs and drabs. Still waiting for my first "hey D-bag" PM.

I enjoy hearing from people on here. I've not been as active on the site in the past week or so but with my anxiety rising due to moving jobs I feel like I'm crawling back here for validation and understanding. I'm not getting much elsewhere.

I've only been PM'd by three people, and my very first PM exchange was someone continuing an argument with me/harassing me when they were no longer able to post in the thread... lol

but I imagine it's nice to receive a little personal bit of acknowledgment/validation. I'm always too shy/inept to initiate anything tho
