Where i live, this seems like the best option. I know that the agreed upon stats are 250 feet for water but this isn't feasible for me as this is the tallest structure in the state and it's close to where I live. I'm planning to go tomorrow, park my car, walk upon the bridge and jump. I hope to not suffer and i'll aim to land head first. Does anyone have any last minute advice or just general comments for me?

P.S. I have been a lurker here forever but I finally decided to post as this is the eve of my departure. Well wishes to everyone and I hope you're having the best holidays you can in your circumstances, whatever they may be :)

For water you want 450 feet to be safe
For land you want 250 feet to be safe
While it is possible from that height the chances of you breaking every bone in your body and becoming a vegetable are also really high. Unless you want to live a painful life while brain dead, I don't recommend it. You should probably just find another method. Even if you are desperate you will hate yourself if you are still alive after. And from that height, even if you did die, it would probably be a few minutes after you hit the ground before you do die. Trust me, those would be the most painful few minutes of your life. Though if you decide to anyways, I hope you find peace.

I'm not sure of your circumstances but if you're able to travel out of state to a higher destination that would be more suitable. Or if there are other methods you have or can gain access to that may be more viable. I don't know if this was rushed or a spur of the moment thing (I do not mean to assume) but these types of decisions can often result in failure to ctb and serious permanent injuries. I would recommend taking time to think about this if it is a sudden decision, and also to seek alternative methods if possible. Whatever you decide I am wishing you all the best

Thank you for the honesty. Are there any stats on this though? It's just odd to think about, we hear about all these celebrities and people in the news that CTB from 3 feet, even if on land it's just crazy that 145 feet wouldn't suffice. I just need a quick method that can be done with no hesitation by tomorrow. I wish I could order SN but it would take too long and I need a quick escape. I appreciate your words anyways, and I agree living as a vegetable would be worst case scenario

I've looked into partial hanging but I'm honestly too slow to properly execute it. What I like about jumping is it requires no tools and once you jump, there's no going back. It is guaranteed death. My parents would be suspicious if I was traveling too far and could probably find a way to interfere, that's why I have chosen a bridge near my house. I am in the US so it will be a holiday and I don't think anyone would be out on the water to "rescue" me or interfere, at-least it would be less likely than other times of year. I want to CTB tomorrow, it would just be full circle for me for a number of reasons. I do thank you for your sincere words though, they mean a lot. I appreciate this community so much.

There is a possibility that you break bones when you hit the water and stay alive upon impact and drowning is a reality.

I don't know what state you're in but if your family and friends are busy during Thanksgiving would you be able to slip out to find somewhere else that is more guaranteed? If you are in a state that isn't too big and are able to drive to another state a couple hours to find a more reliable place to jump, it may be worth it - even if you need to postpone CTB.

I think IJustWantToDie21's well detailed reply should be considered beforehand unless you are content with the reality of becoming a vegetable possibly for the rest of your life (if you do live).

Regardless, I am sorry to hear life is so hard for you, if you need an ear feel free to DM me. I hope whatever you decide you can find peace and comfort. I will be sending some good vibes for you tomorrow.

Good luck and bless you.

The problem with what you hear about people who ctb is that no one ever says anything about the attempts that failed. The chances that those people are actually successful is so small. And when people do survive, they typically don't let people know so they aren't put on any suicide watchlist. If you are set on jumping you will should just travel a little to find a better location. And I don't recommend a bridge if you have no general idea how busy it is. Though as always, it's up to you, I'm just want to warn you, it might end up bad if it's not high enough.
