Discussion Is it better to hang yourself in the forrest than in your room?

I have started to feel more depressed and suicidal lately. Wanna ctb and im pretty sure im going with hanging. There is just one problem, I have very little privacy at home. There is always someone at home which is a problem if I wanna ctb. I could skip school but there is still a chance that someone is going to be home. Which means that it would be better to ctb somewhere else like in a hotel or in the forrest. Also if I ctb in my room the value of my parents house where i live would go down, which I don't wanna do to them. I would like to do it in my room so I could spend my last moments there and it would be more chill but if it creates problems then I would rather do it somewhere else. Forrest or hotel would be my best options and between those two I would rather do it in the forrest. I have a rope that will probably work and there are forrests everywhere so I could just walk into some random forrest and hang myself from some random tree. I could take my phone with me so the police can track my location and find my body when im dead. I would have much more privacy and more than enough time to ctb in the forrest. So what are yalls opinions on this??

I think that for me personally, I would choose to ctb somewhere where there is no chance of being found too early. Failing an attempt is what I fear. I'm sorry that it has come to this point for you. I know that it is hard to carry on when you suffer so much. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do.

Tricky one to call, I agree with above that the risk of being resuscitated is higher at home, but while the idea of never being discovered and just going missing seems preferable, the absence of closure for the people around you is worse than knowing what happened x

But I'd recommend in total honesty that you just keep talking through your issues, we're all here x

I was in the exact same situation last year, I went with the option of going out to a building under construction. (My method was Jumping)

Didn't jump though, for reasons I'll post soon.

There are mosquitoes and moose flies in the forest. Besides, you'll get hot and thirsty and hungry and need to pee. And if you get nervous you won't have anything with you to give you mental support. And the internet connections might not work in the forest so you can't even watch a video or listen to music or read additional roping information. And there's a high chance someone will walk by. That's what I hate about Finnish forests. At the same time you can be in the middle of nowhere with no one around, but the second you need to poop or ctb, there's a billion people nearby.

Besides finding a suitable tree can be surprisingly hard. Everything is either too thin or the branches are too high.

I just ordered a tree ratchet and cornhole bags as per Kooz's Night-Night method. An exasperating 3 week(!) wait for the ratchet to show up. I've been thinking about where to do it. Safely propped up somewhere is my plan so I don't release ratchet after passing out. Cutting off my carotid blood-supply felt magical earlier. No pain or panic at all. I felt like crying.

I can't do it at home because perhaps my mum would find me. A forest sounds nice, once sun is going down. I'd be found by people walking their dogs in the morning. I plan in pinning a note to my body apologising and wearing a ski mask to make my discovery as least unpleasant as possible.

I can't think about how totally shattering this will be for my mum. She is an empath, very kind, gentle and caring. I'll never go through with it if I don't put it out of my mind. What a horrible, fearful, anxious, lonely, depressing, isolated failure this life has been. Enough.

Why don't you choose to go to a hotel? I see that is not the best option if you were to go for hanging for reasons like lack of a nice ligature.

But since your method is to tighten a strap with bags over your carotid arteries, why not be comfortable, in a hotel room?

We are pretty much in the same boat. My parents will be devastated if I ctb. They piss me off often but they really do love me very much.

I have also thought about putting some kind of mask on. Would make it atleast a little less horrifying for the person who finds me.

Maybe you could go for a walk in a forest and see what's it like. Take ten litres of "hyttyssuihke", maybe the smell of the spray will give a nice drugging effect. Haha, just joking.

There are many trees in a forest, you'll probably find one, just remembering where it is could be tricky, but maybe there's a map app where you can mark places.

I'm torn between doing it in my room, somewhere secluded, or in public. If it's in public, I'd do it as a form of protest against the way society and the government treat the disabled. However, there's a chance my body wouldn't be returned to my family, and I wouldn't be cremated or have my ashes spread, which is what I want after death.

Ye maybe I can bring a very long rope and climb a tree to attatch it if I find a good anchor point that is a bit high up. Just an idea tho, idk if it matters but im tryna go with partial.

So basically you can kinda choose. I go to a so called "gymnasium" and you can choose if you take it in 2.5, 3 or 4 years. I do it in 4 years cuz then you get more freetime and less stress. I also retook 8th grade in my last school cuz i was absent too many days and did a shitty job in school. I have summer break for now but next year will be my last year in this school. Just a few years ago They made it mandatory to go to school even after ur 18. It wasn't mandatory when i started but i still did it cuz you want some kind of education in life right? The majority will be around 19 when they quit this school but there are many who are 18 or even 22 when they are done.

My preference in a hotel room on a business trip. I'd just attach my rope to a chin-up bar put on a doorway. I am not keen that family members find me so a hotel is best.

The second would be deep in the woods. I'd scope out a good tree beforehand and then go into the woods at dusk.

I can't imagine being stuck in school until the age of 22, or being required to go past 18 just to graduate. I was in a hurry to get out of that shit show, so the moment I was able to graduate, I made a run for it and didn't look back. Any longer and I would've dropped out.

I would personally wear a pillow case or a bag a la Heaven's Gate (not because of them, just because I feel it would cover the face better) rather than a ski mask, but you do you.
