  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

I see a post, suggested in my news feed, on Facebook, that hurts me, to the point of pushing me to CTB, it says:

"Waking up HEALTHY every morning is the greatest wealth we can have in life".

There are only comments "may God bless my life", "thank you my lord", "I love you God", "I am happy to be in good health"...

Of course, all comments from sick people, disabled people, for example, are censored or receive insults, angry emojis!

How can Facebook hurt me so much?

You're human. It's okay to feel the way you do. Your feelings are valid. Toxic positivity irritates me.

This is exactly what Facebook does. People only tend to post curated images of their best moments, while concealing their various relationship dramas, interpersonal conflicts and underlying suffering. The result is a completely falsified perspective on the realities of human life.

SaSu is sort of the opposite end of the spectrum, where there is ample honesty about dark issues, but it risks being an echo chamber of doom that can cause despair from the other angle.

This is why I avoid social media like a plague. Full of triggers that I can't be bothered with.
There are only comments "may God bless my life", "thank you my lord", "I love you God", "I am happy to be in good health"...
These type of people posting these comments sound like they think they will forever be immune to health problems. Aging and sickness catches up to majority of us. They hide and angry react the other comments because ignorance is bliss to these folks.

People that push their faith up in other peoples faces and that blatantly ignore and turn a blind eye to unfortunate people, are the worst.

A thousand times a day I'm filled with rage at even watching a commercial were someone is happy and enjoying a normal healthy life. Literally just seeing someone walking down the street does it to me at this point. You aren't alone in this. I also belong to another site where people are suffering from the effects of psych drugs and this is a very common theme.

Yes, but it would have been good to avoid expressing it all the time in public, to avoid stigmatizing sick, handicapped, unhappy people, etc. To remind them that they have the misfortune to be sick, handicapped,..., because that pushes them to suicide!

Worse still, reacting with anger or purely and simply censoring the comments of sick, disabled people, etc., who remind us that they are disabled, sick, ..., and do not have the good fortune to be in good health.

It's the same, we keep saying, every new year "Happy New Year, good health!", or "Happy New Year and above all health", a very beautiful thing that still stigmatizes the sick, disabled...

Fuck... How such people infuriate me. "thank God for saving me from misfortune, while for some reason you didn't save another person, but thanks anyway, you're so kind, I'm just shitting with happiness"
And then with a haughty face, barely hiding his "superiority" in front of us, in front of those who don't believe in this diabolical god, who is worshipped, these believers will be nice to us, and inside their heads they will pour shit on us, because they are saints, since they believe in God.

But there are also adequate believers.
In the end, people who receive aggression from religious people should just mentally send this stupid aggression.

Let them continue to worship it is not clear to whom it is not clear for what
They are insane

As long as health is accompanied with good looks, a very well monied family, a career as a actor, singer, and or a musician. There are unfortunately a lots of homeless people who are healthy. Health is just one part of happiness.

This doesn't even surprise me, it seems as though in a life like this there are many people who delude themselves as to the cruel reality of existence. Some people don't want to accept that life can really get that bad for people as it would shatter their worldview. It would likely be different if the person who wrote the Facebook post health declined, I doubt they would still be posting toxic positivity at that point.

Honestly, people are entitled to believe what they want to believe. Even if that belief triggers another. Because let's face it, just about anything we can say or do as human beings can and will trigger someone in some way. So what's the solution? Well, there are two. The first one is we censor every single thing that might trigger someone else. Would be an insanely boring world, but nobody would be offended.

The second more viable option is to simply roll your eyes, mutter some sarcastic words to yourself and scroll on. It's the most sane choice. And I am speaking as someone who gets triggered seeing happy families or kids playing. It upsets me, sure, but that's on me. I control how I react. Nobody else.

How can Facebook hurt me so much?
I can relate. I'm sorry.
There are only comments "may God bless my life", "thank you my lord", "I love you God",
People that push their faith up in other peoples faces and that blatantly ignore and turn a blind eye to unfortunate people, are the worst.
And it makes me want to tell them a few things... Like, REALLY, if they really did have faith, then their relationship with God is supposed to be "the greatest wealth we can have in life." For real.

I disagree
Having health is one of the best or the best thing a person can have.
It's like...

Them: If you don't have your health you have nothing!
Me: You're right. I have nothing. [Thinks but does not say, "Thanks for reminding me."]
Them: [Deletes my comment.]
Me: [<is invisible>]

@theboy, it's not about true/false. It hurts to be considered "less than" and especially when it is due to something out of your control and that cannot be fixed. That's my understanding of the OP.

Editing to add... The conversation depicted above was purely for demonstration purposes, and did not, in fact, take place in the real world. [In the real world, I would proceed directly to invisibility without passing go.] There's no need for concern. No healthy, happy people were inconvenienced, brought down, or inspired to think about others at any point. Which is as it should be, of course. /sarcasm

Ive been indoctrinated that im not allowed to be angry when people hurt me/my feelings

so when i read how people can get sad over things like that it opens my eyes

that its normal to feel upset/angry when someone do that?

because if that's me i get bashed for having that feeling
