So my CTB date is within two weeks. I was planning on just not paying it but then I remembered they (whoever deals with your debts after you die) will take whatever assets you have leftover to pay your debts.

My savings is supposed to go to my family to pay for my cremation. If it's just going to get taken out of that anyway, I'll just pay it. Otherwise, fuck it lol

So I guess a for anyone who is more knowledgeable about this.. do you think they'd worry about making sure a speeding ticket got paid after you're dead? Or is it insignificant enough that they would just let it go?

Not paying could cause you alot of problems if for some reason you do not end up dead.

Like, as in getting fined for not paying in time? Cause obviously I'm planning on ending up dead, but if for whatever reason I end up not dying I'll just pay it. I literally got the ticket yesterday so the deadline isn't immediate

According to this article from findlaw.com, the ticket will likely be paid from your estate. However, I imagine that there is little harm in not paying and just hoping they don't take your money (but only if you're certain that you won't survive with the late, unpaid ticket).

Thank you for linking that! According to the article, "If the person with the ticket dies before the court date, then it is likely that the ticket will be dropped because due process cannot take place". My court date isn't until next month so looks like I won't be paying lol

Thanks again for taking the time to find that!
