I think it can be difficult to feel validated anywhere online, including here if you're new or not great at making inroads in terms of communication. I'm bad at it myself. But I do get the occasional PM or whatever that makes me feel better. There is no elitism here or anything though. It's just a case of dive in and say what you feel. We're really all strangers to each other, and that's partially what makes SS very pleasant and low threshold.

I think you will find that there are some users you like better than others, some you can't stand, and some whom you will find yourself talking to offline (via an app like wire) and becoming virtual friends with.

Don't sweat likes on your posts or anything—this isn't Facebook :).

Just be yourself and you will be alright.
