I'm going to do this in a motel room so he won't be the one to find me. But I want to let him know as soon after I'm dead as possible. I want him to know it's over, and I want him to know that I have all of these files that I've created for him. Passwords, logins, instructions for the cat and this fish, instructions on how to use tails and tor. Lots of stuff that I usually take care of. I've been doing it in stops and starts because I don't want to forget anything.

I don't want him to spend a whole day/night with me "missing". I want to do it on a day that he thinks I go to work, but that I actuallly have the day off, so I have all day without him worrying.

Is there are way that anyone can think of that I can get these documents to him around the time I'm supposed to be home that evening. The documentation could be the last goodbyed, and then he would know where to send the police to find me.

So many things can go wrong with this plan.

Any ideas, suggesstions, alternative possibilities?

Oh, thank you! It didn't know this was something that could be done.

I don't know if that's the case on any phone (try it out with some random message) but if you hold the little send button (not on your keyboard/ on the user interface), then a box will appear giving you 4 options..
1. Later today, xxx am/pm (sends a message 2 hours later)
2. Later tonight, 9pm
3. Tomorrow, 8am
4. Pick date and time

Important thing is that you have to keep your phone turned on and connected to wifi or data!!
Or at least that's what my two smartphones (each one a different brand) are telling me to do.

Edit:
Eventually if you're on Android, go to Google Play store and search for "Google Messages" and click on the app called "Messages" by app developer called Google LLC

Have you thought about creating a video?
I am just putting myself on your husband's shoes.
He might replay that video many times but it might give him so clarity at the end and not just a simple email or letters.

I don't think so... You don't stop loving someone the second you're divorced.

No. I'm not sure. I can't think of a gentle way to do any of this.
I'm emailing my local police with the scheduled mail tool so they can come and find me at my address, then inform my parents. I think this is better than emailing my parents immediately so they have an officer there to assist and my parents - apart from contacting my two sisters which the police can do if needed - don't need to do anything straight away.
