Extremely restrictive diet. I'm not sure what to call it or if it even has a name. I have a gag reflex when trying new things and have eaten the same 5-10 types of food my entire life. Probably related to my autism.

For reference, I can't eat cake, pizza, or pretty much any type of cereal. Ice cream and chocolate are about the only popular types of food I can tolerate. I have no allergies.

I have hyperthyroidism and that means that I can eat a load of stuff without gaining any weight. The cons are that my stomach is never satisfied and sometimes I get dizzy from lack of sugar, having a high metabolic activity

Last year, the only thing that I was concerned with was my weight and what I ate. All-in-all, the year was shit, but it was still better than this year.

I want to eat 4000 calories a day but restrict myself to 2500 or my jeans won't fit and I refuse to buy new ones. I hate clothes, shopping and especially clothes shopping.

I don't know what is or if it counts, but I eat tons of everything and I never gained even a gram. But instead of feeling dizzy or something, my journeys to the WC are beautiful. I can be stuck here for very long time. :II

holy moly, we need to change our diet ASAP. Maybe microbiotic diets would help us to have a regular metabolism and a high quality journey to the washroom without getting stuck in there for eons :nomouth:

I had bulimia when I was young.
It morphed into massively over eating then starving so I never got too fat.
It's mostly under control these days except this week .... I've had time off work and eaten gross amounts of everything. Boy do I feel sick today!
I find my running helps. I ran 9 miles earlier.
I've always had an unhealthy relationship with food. My mum controlled my food so strictly. I was a "greedy" child, I stole some cooking chocolate out of the pantry when I was 7. She put my fingers in the gas flame on the cooker saying " magpies get their fingers burnt".
These days they'd say I was abused. In the 70s it was just what happened.

I also have an eating disorder now maybe not specify, because I do not meet all the criteria of anorexia, but it is the disorder that I am closest to

It began to develop when I was 16 until 20.
Then I continue with my unhealthy relationship with food. Until I turned 22 I relapsed again, now with 25, the only thing I have in life that really makes me happy is losing weight.

If you ever want to talk to me, you can do it. I think we could understand each other.

EDNOS with body dysmorphia.....closest to anorexia. Lots of restricting. Little binges, constant guilt and feeling physically ill after eating. Obsession with numbers.

I've had disordered eating since I was a child. Pretty much binge eating before I was 12, then restrictive dieting since 15, now I have chronic restrained eating and literally can't go through a day without obsessing about calories. I feel so disgusting

I am technically of the "NOS" variety because I don't meet the weight requirement for AN (AKA not under 18.5 BMI which is a bs system anyway because it doesn't take into account muscle mass, denser bones, etc) but I'm WELL over it. I restrict to about 500 calories a day and purge about 1-2 times a day (no binging, just purging small amounts of food or even just water because it makes me feel (mentally) better. It's been 18 years for me.

I read in a mainstream newspaper how they think the rise in veganism is in part those with eating disorders who find it easier to use vegan as a "cover" for cutting out so much food. Well played, I say to those, because it's clever.

I used to use that as a reason for not eating. Was vegetarian originally, for about 5 years (for animal cruelty reasons), then spent another 5 years vegan as it made it a LOT easier to avoid eating in eat-y situations. Not so much for animal cruelty reasons thought I went the whole trip and didn't wear leather etc to make it more "believable".

Insightful. I knew it! (not you personally, I just had a feeling others who were "vegan" just didn't seem like they were really in it for the supposed reasons.)

It was just because of most likely, but not to generalise, most or some did it to cover up eating disorders. Hmm.

Well, it's like, easy to be vegan with what's considered a "bad diet", as i've seen a lot of vegan diets heavy on breads or junk foods that lack animal products or booze. but i myself use it because it's very convenient to restrict myself to less than 800 calories a day while appearing to have normal eating habits in public and working out. i don't think it's necessarily an eating disorder proper, but I am heavily body conscious w/ a lot of shame that propels the behavior, so that is what it is.
