This is probably a stupid question or thing to wonder about but does anyone have animals that keep them here? If I didn't have my dog, I'd have no issues being done with everything but I just can't imagine me not being here for my little buddy.

I have no kids, no friends, and no family. There's not a person alive that I care about. I have a great job and above average pay is about it so not much to keep me here but also no backup plan for him is something happened to me

I have two cats they are my everything and honestly the only thing that makes my life less miserable, if somehow I lose them I will definitely ctb as soon as I can. As long as they are with me I know I'm loved and not alone and this means a lot when things get worse with my depression.

I completely understand all of you. I have a cat, almost 15 years old, and she is the love of my life. I feel that I can't abandon her since she is the only one that stayed with me when everyone leaved. Animals are amazing. People suck.

I'm so sorry. I can't even think about it. Must be beyond awful.

Yea my pets are the only thing keeping me here. I could never leave them, they've consistantly been the only ones there for me and my cat loves cuddling with me which is nice when mentally I feel like rubbish.

I have 8 dogs, a rabbit, duck, and chicken. I feel like they'll be well taken care of though when I ctb. I do worry if they'll be alright without me. Graham and almond are so attached to me that when I go to the bathroom, one is crying for me at the door.

They're really too good for this world. I work with animals and my cat is the love of my life, I don't know what I would do without him. I had a really bad crying session last night, and he came over to sit in front of me. He stared at me for a while then tried to get me to let him.

Then he slept super close to me all night, it was super comforting. I really hope there's some sort of afterlife, because I just want to be with him forever.

I have a 9 year old cat named Tiger.
He is my best friend. He has been with me through everything. I don't know what I would do without him. I spoil him rotten. There isn't anything that I wouldn't do for him. Animals are the best. They are always there for you.

I have a lot of pets. 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rescued guinea pigs and 5 rats. The rodents have their own room.

If I didn't have my two dogs I would be dead. I would've never made it through my hardest days. They are the least likely to thrive outside my care and I feel obligated to see them through to their last days.

What makes you think that? He had a hard life on the street until someone took him in, you're probably his whole world. Why would you abandon him back out into the streets or a shelter?

Animals have unconditional love and they really do make things better. I'm certain if something happened to mine that is ctb that same day. I can't even imagine that happening but I know it's inevitable.

Would someone be able to care for Gunner if you wasn't around? That's an awesome name too, what kind of dog is he?

15 years is a long time and for a greyhound is amazing! That's testament to how well he's been cared for

This is awesome, I feel like if I had more animals that I'd feel better sometimes. 8 dogs would be a dream actually. I can't go to the bathroom without Loki and he has separation anxiety that he vocalizes loud enough that the neighbors can hear lol
Two cats. Don't really care about them, my parents care more. I wouldn't hurt them though. Sometimes I also like to pet them.

I do envy this. When my parents were alive, they had cats and i felt this way about them. I wish every day I didn't care for my dog the way I do because it is going to hurt so bad when something happens to him and it's scary to think about

I really do understand this so much. I kind of just recently started having these breakdown crying sessions and it's like he knows he needs to comfort me and he slept cuddled up to me closer than he normally does. He definitely senses it somehow for sure

Yeah, her and I at the vets one final time.... I haven't been able to bring myself to pick up her cremated remains and urn yet... when I went to get my husband I just sat in the car and cried for two hours before going in, that was traumatic... now I have to go and get her. Soon it will be my turn, I'll be with them soon.

It's amazing that so many people feel the same way about their animals. I suspected that there would be a few but it somehow just made my day a little better that so many people feel the same

My ex kept our dog. I am heart broken
I dream about him always behind a closed door. I hope to see him in the afterlife as people have mentioned seeing pets again.

I feel this so much! This makes my eyes water up just reading it. I'm so glad you got to be there for her, that's a compassion that so many animals don't get. I can't imagine how hard that must have been and still is. It would be like losing a child I think

I just have my fish and snails now. My best friend (my dog I had for half of my life) had the most beautiful peaceful death 6 months ago. I wish I could go like him. It was the perfect death. He was surrounded by love and nature. It was a wonderful sunny day with a cool breeze. Flowers were blooming and birds and bees were singing and buzzing. He got to pass away in the grass and clover by a creek and copse of trees.

It was so so hard to lose him though, he kept me strong and pulled me through hard times. I still haven't put away/given away all of his things. I know if I go my partner would take care of our aquatic buddies though.

My boyfriend would be here to take care of Gunner if anything happened to me but Gunner is essentially my dog. I pretty much care for him myself right now cuz I stay at home and my boyfriend works to support our family so he's super attached to me. He'd literally be lost without me I think. And Gunner is a black mouth cur. Not many people have heard of that breed. They're super smart, agile, loyal companions, great family dogs.
