Do you think this is because of the easy access to drugs?

Definitely. Save up a little morphine. A little fentanyl here and there. They probably know exactly what to do.

Which is interesting because it suggests of people had the opportunity a lot more of them would kill themselves.

Vets probably because they have unrestricted access to Nembutal, and the 'naive' doctors that go into the medical profession with the intent to help and do good but then they realize how truly incapable modern medicine is at saving anyone, so they load up on propofol.
As for dentists, they probably saw that orthotropics is becoming a thing and that they'll need to rethink everything they thought they knew about malocclusion lol

I envy these ppl greatly. They know how to ctb with the least amount of pain down to a science not to mention access to the resources to do it.

Yes, people who have access to drugs should have the highest suicide rates, that is logical. These people are only humans and as time goes on they will get old, sick and disabled and then they want to die. And what about the people who work in the suicide clinic?

This is one of the reasons why society will never enable easy access to suicide. Those who claim that most people enjoy their lives know deep down that a lot of people would kill themselves if given an easy and painless method. Suicidal people are not some tiny minority of mentally ill weirdos.

I think it has much to do with
a.) access to lethal drugs;
b.) having jobs with extremely high levels of stress.

I am not surprised police and military officers have similarly high suicide rates - because they have access to weapons (and their professions are similarly stressful).

Yes, I agree that it is because of access. Many people want to ctb but they are put off because they lack the courage and cannot access supplies. If N was available to the general population then the general suicide rates would rapidly increase.

doctors have such high stress given their actions have impact on others' lives. add that to their knowledge of human body & easy access to drugs cause them to top the list.

So do nurses, but they don't seem to have high suicide rates...
Btw, does anyone think that dentists are especially stressed-out?

but its doctors' necks which are on line. nobody goes to yelp or friends asking recommendations on nurses when they have serious illnesses. They look for best doctors available.
please dont get me wrong I am not underplaying nurses' stress. but doctors have way more stress.

I doubt dentists have much stress.
